Somebody needs to tell Lanny Davis...
to zip it. Suddenly, Dems are supposed to "reach across the aisle" and cooperate
with the jackoffs who have been turning the country into a police state.

2. Lanny is part of the Connecticutts for Lieberman Party.
Sorry Lanny, there are honest issues that need investigating....if crimes have been committed, we need to hold these people accountable.

5. I don't think he was saying DON'T investigate
I think he was worried about the "gotcha" crap that has gone on for way too long, afraid of another round. I agree with him on that score, but I don't think old "Joementum" is the "Hold the Party Together" guy--he's more like the Eight Hundred Pound Gorilla who could be an obfuscator and an attention whore, frankly.

That said, if Cheney is in hot water, and Monkey swaps him out for McCain, Joementum can go fuck himself. Arizona has a Democratic governor, n'est pas? Who would replace him with the "right sort" of person pending an election?

I'm very much in favor of PROFESSIONAL oversight, of the sort responsible adults would undertake. You generally don't wave bloody shirts (or semen stained dresses) when you engage in responsible oversight. You just go about your business like an adult. And if you find trouble, you fix it, like an adult would do, and you hold those who caused it accountable.

8. I here yeah....I just don't want Republicans to seize on this as cover
not to do due diligence. Lanny has to know Lieberman no longer has the moral high ground / elder statesman label in this Party. He's not representative of what the majority of Democrats think on this issue. Lanny/Joe best not be speaking from a position of preemptively defusing the need for investigations. That ain't gonna happen. Given Joe's love of lobbyist $, methinks that Joe has a vested interest in not rocking any ethics boats. I wonder how much of this high ground posturing by Lanny is really an attempt to keep Joe's low ground dirt undisturbed?

3. He has a right to his opinion, first, and it probably doesn't hurt at all that the panicked GOP
is hearing this reasonable "calm down" message. We don't do any good behaving like Newt's crew did when they marched in like storm troopers.

We can approach the issues in a professional, measured manner. Not gleefully, not snarkily, but like ADULTS. If there's disgusting crud crawling out from any rocks we turn over, we'll deal with that, too, in MATURE and businesslike fashion.

I think America wants to see grown-ups in charge for a change. Not this childish GOTCHA shit. If there's oversight to be accomplished, let's do it professionally. This isn't a sport, it's the business of government.

At the end of the day, if we can jail, fine, impeach, censure or do what-have-you to those who deserve it, and do it QUIETLY, the result is the same: better government and bums tossed out on their asses. And we avoid being labelled as "revenge takers."

We need to take the high road--the American people, and particularly, that all important INDEPENDENT voter, will vote for us again if we avoid childishness.

4. A townhall with Koppel
A few months ago Ted Koppel conducted a townhall on the Discovery Channel. Whenever Lanny Davis spoke it was always in support of bush policies, and republicans. If we disagree with republicans according to Lanny, we're not being fair. He serves on one of bush's little bi-partisan commissions.

Democrats like Lanny-Lieberman would be happy to see us forever locked in the minority.

7. He's no friend to us
Remember a couple of months ago when he was on Lieberman's bandwagon? He was
furious when Ned won the primary and had a tizzy fit when anyone knocked Joe's
do over.
