Wasn't the Webb/Allen race one hell of a ride last night?
I literally watched the returns for like five hours straight! It started off not looking too good but I had hope because the North numbers hadn't come in. Then it tightened and got to withing 1,500 votes then suddenly Allen jumped to a 20,000 point lead :wow: I then started crunching the numbers in about 50 different ways looking at each district and how it was voting and what % each district still had to report. Each time I crunched the numbers it seemed to look like it would be dead even. Then the whole time Allen was always up just enough to drive me NUTS!

Then!!!!! Right at the end!!!!!! Webb pulls ahead for good!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

What a ride! I knew when I went to bed at 2:00 Mountain time we were going to win it all!

3. I must admit, that race was exciting! It kept me at DU and Daily Kos
all evening.(It was just like a championship basketball game with the lead changes many times and close all the way!) I better get into shape the next time, I don't know if I can take that kind of drama again.

6. Incredible
I am not sure I ever remember a candidate being behind all the way until the 98/99% reporting. Missouri was exciting also.

8. I bit my nails down to the knuckles.
It didn't start to turn around until 99% counted IIRC. That's why I put off celebrating till today.

9. I'll say. And that post, something about "jaw dropping", first time I
saw Webb was ahead, was just amazing. I'd already given up on VA.
Tried to stay up until MT came in, but I finally had to give it up at 3 a.m. CST.

11. It was like that during the primary too. This is why I hadn't given up
when the important Webb precincts hadn't completely reported. Then, like last night, Jim jumped ahead at the end.

Ya'll, I finally have a Democrat to call up about votes. It's been tough having Senator Warner, Senator Allen, and Randy (Bush-voting) Forbes as a Congressman.
