My lame little election day story (and analysis)
Okay, so I went to school today in absolute euphoria over the results of last night's election. Nothing was gonna bring me down, I swear. The election was on my mind all day. I didn't pay attention in any class because I was too deliriously happy about last night. And of course, I was eagerly anticipating the Montana/Virgina results.

All of this is to say, most of the kids at my school (and church :wow: ) were *quite* happy with the results of the election. Mississippi is a HEAVILY republican area, the state is redder than a tube of fire-engine lipstick and being a pro-choice politician guarantees political suicide and or death. I can't wait to see the LTTE's tomorrow. The front cover today was amazing.I've saved it (on the internets) so that all of my children and grandchildren can see how we FINALLY took our country back.

America is truly an amazing place. All the mechanisms of tyranny-to paraphrase the great Keith Olbermann from Monday night-will be rolled back. We democrats don't want to shit on the constitution, the document our country and our democracy is based on.

Hopefully, our senators and representatives will come up with a good Iraq plan and work with the republicans and treat the republican minority with adequate respect-unlike the former republican majority. Our congress will try our hard to eliminate corruption wherever we find it and fully investigate the causes and effects.

Maybe I'm just being overly hopeful. But hope sure is a damn good thing.

1. Great story and beautifully said...
...know that there are millions of others out here who all
felt the same today. And yes the word we all must remember is
that NOW there is "hope" for the country.
