HALLIBURTON IS ABOUT TO BE THROWN UNDER THE BUS
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:49 PM by berni_mccoy
I am pretty sure Cheney and Karl will be out very soon (before the new Congress starts). (and McCain will be V.P.)

The reasons for this are explained here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2651052&mesg_id=2651052

What it means is that Halliburton is going to be a barter chip that is offered up to the Dems. The Dems will expose all the corruption of Halliburton and we will see many more members of Congress (all repubs) going down with that ship.

I'd be interested to see what David Smith (the DUer) has to say about this...

4. But who gets to be VP?
How does that work?

Would Chimpy get to pick?

And what if he picked little Ricky Sanctorum?

21. Please, please. please.

Isn't the governor of AZ a dem.... which means a Dem senator to replace McCain?

And then we could tell Joementum that his new independent status means he gets squat!!! Just another freshman senator.

17. I gotcha...I was referring to soon-to-be-ex-Senator Santorum,
who might find it a tad more difficult. I guess it could be worse than McCain. I just don't like giving any of those buzzards a head start. Then again, veeping for the chimp could be the kiss of death, you just never can tell.

After having the Rickster as a PA senator for the length of time he's been around, I was a little bit worried.

I'm hoping that the rug chewing, bible thumping, closeted pony lover will fade into a well deserved obscurity.

And be very happy with his Daschund.

8. That's oversight
The intended systemn of checks and balances requires that when the gov't spends our money they be held accountable. War profiterring, making money on the death and suffering of our Bravest is deplorable. Those who engage in this travesty, either by doing the profiteering, or by willingly and knowingly turning their backs on those who do so is beneath contempt.

Investigations into war profiteering should have been the norm. I prey that we don't turn our backs on this as a way of extending an olive branch.

13. An investigation would serve both Bush and the Democratic Congress
The bargaining chip is how much info the Dems will be given (making their job easier). Like a plea bargain.

20. So Subpoena Power would mean?
I keep picturing that scene in V for Vendetta where V throws that last ass-wat up against the wall and says ...... "behind this mask is an idea, and ideas are bullitproof"...... so in the real world your saying we gotta bargain huh???? Peace. ;)

18. If we have to have a Republican VP: Secretary Rice...
wouldn't it be cool to see two women behind the President at the state of the union? We should take this opportunity to elevate women to power!

19. I don't think gw would choose anyone w/ pres aspirations for vp....
... Simply because that would force gw to limit what he does for the sake of the presidentially-aspiring vp. And gw is a spoiled cowardly brat - such people don't like being limited.

23. I have thought that the first move in investigating the pug
corruption should be a request for audits from all departments and ESPECIALLY military departments connected to Iraq.

24. That has already been done
Dem's in Congress have not been sitting on their butts the last few years.Between the whistle blowers and some good people in the Justice department I think that the only thing left to do is present the evidence to the American public.

25. I’m not sure I understand
how you think that Halliburton can be used as a bargaining chip? When the dirt comes out about Halliburton, GW isn’t going to escape the fallout and I expect to see hearings on war profiteering in the Pelosi House. This may be the way the Democrats will nail bush.

The dems know that Rumsfeld & Cheney are poison to Poppy’s little empire, so why bargain for their removal…they’re lamer ducks than bush. Why do it before the election when they didn't know what clout they'd have?

I'm still trying to figure out what we'd get out of any deal.
