Everyone knows it but they have such political power that no one will openly confront them. There are about 22 high GOP D.C. officials who are closeted gays.

9. It's so sad

It's so sad to think of these people living their lives this way - self-hating and forcing their self-hating agenda on everyone. I think that when we get to the point where gay marriage is generally legal most everywhere, that might make it easier for some of these people to come out and stop causing all this heartache.

I saw Ken Mehlman on TV last night, maybe 3 or 4 in the a.m. He looked absolutely terrible. The campaign and especially the losses have onviously taken a toll on him. He looked like he had lost about 20 lbs since I saw him on some show over the weekend. He needs to take a vacation someplace warm and relaxing and do some soul-searching. This is a perfect time for him to realize that he is killing himself for people who don't even think of him as a person deserving equal rights. Time to hang it up, Ken. Come out, start the healing, and do some good for the world.
