Oh, so NOW it's time to "work together" "stop partisan bickering" |
|
now I'm starting to get mad.
Why doesn't someone call these pundits on it? Why weren't you calling for bipartisan cooperation LAST week/month/year?
We should be tough as nails and do it while being so sweet they can't complain.
Creeps.

1. well, just look at Bush at his press conference |
|
all of a sudden it's all 'let's work together'. AS if that is an idea that JUST occurred to him. What an idiot.

Its because thats what the American people want.
And because Democrats need to deliver a track record in order to deliver 08.
But fear not, there will be investigations. And it will get ugly.
Give it....3 days.

14. Yep, we CAN do both. We can drain the swamp, prosecute a PRO AMERICAN agenda, AND |
|
...investigate like hell. There's been no oversight for six years, we've got a lot of work to do.
But so long as we work towards the themes that interest Americans, like health care, college tuition, social security, all those bread and butter issues, and of course, FORCE the new SECDEF to come up with a "Let's Leave Eye-Rack" strategy, we'll be in good shape.

needs, but they have proven to be strawmen! (thanks to the corporate media, who propped them up.)

4. In the spirit of bipartisanship, I think Congressional Democrats should |
|
follow they example they have of the way Congressional Republicans have shown a bipartisan effort for the last 14 years!

I rarely see Democrats bicker. It's usually they who bicker, as anyone can see by visiting their websites.

10. I'm in Texas where the "blue wave" passed us by yesterday |
|
Our state government is still wholy in the grips of the republicans and I guaran-damn-tee you we're not hearing any calls for bi-partisanship down here. And that should tell you everything about what the rethugs would be acting like today if they hadn't lost nationally.

11. I guess the MSM expects us to actually be the responsible ones. |
|
After standing around withtheir collective thumbs up their asses for the past 12 years while petulant children and thugs have ransacked our country now they expect us to show restraint. We'll fix the mess, but we have a few things we need to take care of first.

12. I share your anger, but... |
|
we're not calling them out because we're actually mature adults who don't need to name call in order to prove a point. Our points will all be shown through action and not by the Republican's name-calling tactics.
But I am glad to see more Dems manning up and getting fierce! It's nice to see how we have tougher people in Congress now! WOOHOO!

I can already see why we aren't calling them out. I was listening to Nancy Pelosi talk to a reporter who was attacking her on being "liberal", and instead of ripping out his heart and eating it for dinner, she calmly responded to his question in a very mature, civilized fashion and even called him "my friend..." Sure, she looked a tiny bit bothered by the question, but it's cool how she kept her cool! IMO...

should be for the people who elected the Dem majority. We work for them, and will pass bills that benefit them, and not corporations and the wealthy. That's who we should be nice to, and take care of. The republicans forgot about the people, and the people punished them yesterday. That's who we will work with, and for.

20. Rachel Maddow did a great piece on this last night. |
|
She played Bush's campaign rhetoric clips, followed by his calls yesterday for bi-partisanship. She said, "You don't get to say that now. After you've said that votes for the Democrats are votes for the terrorists, you don't now get to call for bipartisanship."
Here's what I'm going to do. I'm composing a letter to my Republican congressman that includes all the points of the "First 100 Hour Plan" and telling him that his President has called for bi-partisan cooperation and I expect him to fully support all the initiatives of the "First 100 Hours". If he doesn't support each and every one, then he is being an obstructionist and violating his own party's call for cooperation.
