Dear Republicans: You don't get to tell us how to act. |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 12:17 AM by Bouncy Ball
Got it?
WE determine our behavior. Not you. We'll decide how we want to act. Democrats in Congress will decide how they want to act. You don't GET to decide that. You don't GET to dictate that. You don't HAVE that power. And sitting there on TV snarking that Democrats better "make nice" now just makes you look even more like the big, whiny, snively losers that you really are.
Who was telling you to "make nice" when you controlled Congress? OH THAT'S RIGHT, NO ONE. You know, when you were running roughshod over the American people, acting like kids in a candy store? Remember that? YOU ARE THE LOSERS. You don't GET to dictate the terms.
Edited to add this: Republicans? Please put on your big girl panties and get over it.

You know what they've done? They have realized, every one of them, that they've set the NASTIEST TONE EVER in DC, they realize that they've pulled some of the nastiest, dirtiest, most underhanded shit EVER for the past six years and now they're HORRIBLY AFRAID it's all going to come back to bite them in the ass and hard.
They SET THAT TONE. THEY pissed in the pool. (And sorry, but crapped in it, too. A lot.) And now they're all standing on the side of it going "ewwww, that water's nasty!" Well, you know what? You're the ones who pissed and shat in it for six years. So you damn well better get in there and start cleaning that shit up.
By the way, where are the calls for Republicans to MAKE NICE and COOPERATE? Huh????
Fuck them. Their arrogance will be (and is already starting to be) their total downfall.

13. Telling Democrats how to act comes right after |
|
they tell everyone what Democrats think. For years, right-wing talking heads have been creating the Liberal Bogeyman by telling their audiences what Democrats think. The Democrats themselves don't get to say what they think, the right-wingers decide what Democrats think and then rant and rave about how terrible Democratic thoughts are.
It looks like the rest of the country disagrees with them. They ARE the LOSERS. Too bad they won't loose their big, fat paychecks for their continual lying.

But the people also want the Rethugs relegated to minority status and they will learn their place in that status very quickly. We will chair the committees and they WILL play by the rules...period.

We treat them with respect, but marginalize them, let them know that they're really not all that important anymore, but they can come along for the ride if they play nice. There is no need for us to sink to their former level. We're better than that.

No thank you. They need to feel what it's like to be ignored, treated with disdain, made to hold hearings in the basement, and demonized by elected officials who should know better. If we don't let them know how this feels, they'll repeat the same totalitarian style of leadership next time they're in power.
No, civility and respect can return when they next come to power. They will have to bring it back. No way I'd counsel Democratic Party leaders to "play nice." For the good of America, it's time to play mean, like the Repukes do.

i broke my own rule this evening, i flipped on hannity & colmes, and hannity was grilling jesse jackson about john conyers' intentions re: impeachment. it was such a joke, hannity is trying to get any democrat to say that they intend to impeach the bastard. as far as i know, jesse jackson is not an elected official, and i'm sure john conyers doesn't consult with him on the subject of impeachment. i wish they would, however, i do realize that we have a lot more important things to do initially.
but fox anchors are still trying to scare their base with the threat of impeachment, and subpoenas flying all over D.C. the dems have earned the right, and the american electorate has given them a mandate & i hope they do us proud.

They have nothing but spin, snark and condescension, trying their damndest to convince liberals to move to the right, "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing".

48. Republicans are so angry, they are eager to boss Pelosi around, |
|
but they have another thing comin' b/c she is strong-willed and persuasive. In all my classes, all I heard from my conservative peers was "Pelosi better do.." or "Pelosi is going to have to.." to which I responded (honestly) that she doesn't have to do a GODdamn thing she doesn't want to do. Let's remind Rethugs of this continually, like you have done here.

for partisanship was when they were bullying the Democrats around. What they want is for us to play nice while Republicans continue their dirty tricks behind the scenes. The ONLY lesson these folks learned was to do it where nobody can see it. Make no mistake. It will only get uglier and uglier. But it will be where nobody can see it.

I'd love to see their reaction if when it was their turn to speak we turned off their microphone and lights. And only allowed them to use the basement when they wanted to hold any special meeting.

63. I remember a discussion on "civility" on CBS's "Sunday Morning".... |
|
During the dark days between the Supreme Court's decision & Bush's Inauguration, a reporter (Lesley Stahl?) interviewed Clarence Thomas's wife. Mrs Thomas was so happy that the Republicans were going to restore maturity, civility & adult behavior to DC. Stahl just smiled & agreed with her.
Of course, Mrs Thomas was working for the Heritage Foundation, interviewing prospects for roles in Bush's regime. Did Stahl suggest a conflict of interest? After all, Mr Thomas had helped ensure there would BE a Bush regime. No!
Of course, the persecution of Clinton was not mentioned. The Republicans had always been above partisanship!
I really loved "Sunday Morning." I haven't watched it since.

I remember when the Pope went to Cuba, and Cokie Roberts was emoting all over the set like a schoolgirl on her first date, when she announced her big "get" - an interview with the Pontiff himself.
LESS than an hour later, she was canceling her flight to Cuba to look closely at the semen stains on Monica's blue dress.
Another big loser that needs rehabilitation after the last decade-and-a-half is Journalism. Keith Olbermann towers over the barren landscape of the MSM much like Cal Ripken towered over the desert that was major league baseball in 1994. Pygmies, All!

(GAWD, after treating US like scum, telling our reps to FUCK OFF in the senate, after calling us unpatriotic, terrorist appeasers, now shut up with telling us how to do things-you have no clue how deep and righteous our outrage at what YOUR shitty party has done to this country-and we don't even know-gulp-half the crap you've pulled, but we intend to find out and will not forget nor let the electorate forget how you've run roughshod over every civil liberty we hold dear)

84. I recently read Richard A Clarke's book, "Against All Enemies", |

and found that every now and then he'd say something completely hilarious. Yet often he was just drily putting an action or words of theirs in a particular context that highlighted their madness.

Guess all those holier than thou Republicans forgot the part about "as you would have done unto you". If they get a little of their own back, well, I guess they were asking for it!

young Tucker Neilson. It's just that chickenhawks that they are, they pee their pants at the thought of serving their country in the military. But being REAL MEN, they are not conscientious objectors. Just cynical and cowardly exploiters, low-life parasites.
