Lieberman was winning in them at this point in 2002 (without Gore inserted in the question.)

22. Try this: Halfway thru the series of Dem debates those dominating the debates will be: |
|
Then try guessing what the Democratic voters will be thinking about the 'popular' candidates now who haven't yet had their every word twisted and put up for ridicule while on the campaign trail.

6. Gore as the "well-known"... |
|
..Clark for the "not so Well-know", Clark needs to really start getting in the Media to get his name out there.
Gore, I know would be a terrific President and he should be at this time, be our Prez. Not ShrubCo!
I think Hillary is a female LIEberman; I just get that vibe from her.

|
the '08 primaries have now begun.
All I know is Hillary and Kerry won't get my vote. I like Kerry, but his time is done and he's politically inept. Hillary simply never had my vote. Everyone else, has a chance to get my vote...

25. Politically inept in a way only the corporate media can make ANYONE appear inept. |
|
You would want to vote for the Democrat who is immune to that media spin and editting rooms.
Who would that be?

12. First reaction: almost meaningless at this point. Second reaction: surprise |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 01:53 AM by Clarkie1
(assuming some miniscule degree of meaningfulness) that Obama is ahead of Gore. No surprise that Kerry is in the back of the pack (Kerry supporters: please don't take it personal). That said, it's name recognition at this point and the perception of who is likely to be running, as well as the media.
Most people don't have a clue that Clark might consider an 08' run, for example. There is a long way to go until next year in Iowa. It is impossible to tell what will transpire, for example, in the international arena between now and then. Undoubtedly, there will be debate at that time about what our best course of action is, just as there is now, and the voters will decide who makes the most sense to them, who has the same priorities as they, who will be the most effective leader, who has the skillset needed to keep the country safe and most effectively advance a Democratic agenda, etc.
Clark/Obama 08'

in attorney general or secretary of state? That thought had never occured to me. Do you really think he would prefer one of these positions over being the distinguished Senator from Massachusetts? I'm not so sure about that.

20. If he thinks he can do more good there, then yes. I think AG esp. |
|
would be right up his alley as a former prosecutor.
But I'm not him, and I can't see what he sees. I think he wants to serve his country. If that means holding onto his Senate seat, so be it. If that means seeking a cabinet position, then again, so be it.
Problem is whether or not that would work for him as a former presidential candidate. Now that you mention it, that might be sort of awkward.

But of the ones that would have a good chance of being the nominee, I'd say Gore should be able to take his rightful office.

I have NO CLUE if Wes is running this year, but if he does...he'll probably get my support. GORE would be AWESOME! I would LOVE to see a Gore/Clark ticket or a Clark/Gore ticket. I doubt Al would want to be VP again though.

27. I'm undecided at this point. |
|
Clark was my choice in '04 (note: he dropped out before I had a chance to vote, so I ended up voting for Dean), but a Democratic Congress changes everything. Our next President doesn't need to be as combative as he did in '04.
We need somebody with a broad, positive vision for the future. Whoever can convince me that they have that will get my vote. Naturally, that broad vision will have to bring about the end of aggressive war and indefinite occupation. I'm unwilling to compromise on that one.
