The Youth Came Through For Us This Time!

I am betting The Daily Show and You Tube etc. had a lot to do with this! The youth came through for us and helped put us over the top! Great sign for the future of our party!

Youth turnout in election biggest in 20 years

By Jason Szep Wed Nov 8, 6:11 PM ET

BOSTON (Reuters) - Young Americans voted in the largest numbers in at least 20 years in congressional elections, energized by the
Iraq war and giving a boost to Democrats, pollsters said on Wednesday.

About 24 percent of Americans under the age of 30, or at least 10 million young voters, cast ballots in Tuesday's elections that saw Democrats make big gains in Congress. That was up 4 percentage points from the last mid-term elections in 2002.

"This looks like the highest in 20 years," said Mark Lopez, research director of the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, which compiled the data based on exit polls. "Unfortunately, we can't say if it's a record because don't have good comparable data before 1986."

4. Well, what happened is that more youths voted, but the percentage
compared to total voters remained the same. I personally don't think they flaked. But this time they came out in freakin' droves. It sounds like they must have blown their old percentage out of the water.

who sign up for Service, because they "don't have money for college anyway", and then not return - yes, it has an impact on the entire class, if not school.

and this is their protest voice.

7. Let me say one thing:
George Bush has ruined Republican hopes of ever getting a hold of my whole generation. By this I mean anybody who went to high school or college while he's been President. We are liberal by a 2:1 margin or more. Why? Because Bush has made a complete joke of himself and the Republican party. My generation knows Bush is a Republican, and that alone has made most of us tune out from Republican policies. George Bush being an idiot was enough to drive us away.

This post is by a 20 year old college student whose friends, even from a conservative area, are either Democrats or at least mostly moderate (a few fundies in there, but they're good people so we put up with each other :) ).

9. Kudos to youth!
Embrace your idealism.... it's healthy.

This is your environment and we've been bad stewards of the earth.

It's your future the pukes have mortgaged to feed their own greed.

:applause:
