Are you in contact with any Democratic Senators or House members?

I'm curious here. How many of us have the ear of anyone who'll be sitting in Congress as of January? I mean as in two-way communication. A friend, colleague, or as someone you exchange e-mails with on a fairly regular basis.

I'd like to get an idea of exactly how far on the "fringes" we actually are. I have a suspicion that we're not as far out there as the freepers, for example, would like to think. I've seen and heard comments from some fairly highly placed Dems that too closely echo things I've seen here on DU to believe this is true.

We're a pretty good cross-section of left-leaning Americans--from those more in the mainstream, such as myself, to the far left "latte-drinking" San Franciscans. ;)

Think of this as a kind of "six degrees of separation" in the political universe.

I'd like to know if there's anyone out there who takes this odd internet progressive think tank seriously.
