W knew it was all over when he gave his presser Monday
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 04:17 AM by enigmatic
I just watched the Presser again via this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x4253

And it struck me just how completely beaten-down and skittish he looked, especially when he gave his incomphrehensible answer to why he canned Rumsfeld. And after he says

"Actually, I thought we were going to do fine, heh, heh....shows what I know..."

he gets this brief look on his face that just screams "It's over".

It's amazing to see, and it's probably as close to introspective as W ever gets..

2. He looked to me as if someone had just tried to explain to him
(in simple words of course) exactly what had happened and he was still trying to understand the consequences.
It looked as if it took everything he had to come out, talk to people and answer questions.

Possibly dealing with the first thoughts of what the Election meant since he had never considered what his life would be; still the p(R)esident, but no longer in control.

It seemed he was making a feeble attempt with the "joking around, good ole boy stuff and they'll like me again", but no one laughed. Also, throw them a bone (Rummy) and they'll go away happy.
Thinking in his childish mind, all of this stuff "might" go away.

The only truth to come out of his mouth was, he didn't have any idea the "other side" could or would win.

Taken completely by surprise, I think it will take a while for him to truly understand the fullness of this historical event, "IF" he ever does.

I can't imagine how History will portray this man and what he has done to our country, Iraq and the world. I don't think he can either.

3. He nearly destroyed our democracy.
We have a lot of rebuilding to do. You know, those who came and died before us, for those rights....how hard they had to fight to get them. And, now, we're going to have to do it all over again. Because of BUSH and the fucking neocons. May God damn them to a fiery fucking hell.
