Massive GOP fraud could still explain all those "tight" races!!!
Now is not the time to drop the issue of past stolen elections. Think of it this way... by conceding a mid-term election now, the heat will come off of the whole election fraud issue. The result of this being the preservation of the vote rigging system for future use.

Also, "the system" may well have minimised republican losses to something much less embarrassing.

My point is that the election stealing function may still reside within the electoral process. Now is the time to purge all avenues leading to the manipulation/stealing/suppression etc. of the vote.

1. You are absolutely correct, fraud still happened
Like any sophisticated crooks, these people were careful to leverage their theft to preserve plausible denial. This election must be viewed in the context of the real, no competency is permissible.

We should run scared because if strong, honest and forthright elections are not guaranteed now with strong laws putting into place realistic and incontrovertible methods of guaranteeing honest elections, it is unlikely to ever happen.

2. Exactly
the time has come to RID ourselves of this anomaly, the "neck and neck", "too close to call", "coming up from behind" "Republican SURGE", etc..

When I was a younger man (and I'm 53) I recall races being pretty much where they were, unless someone was caught with their pants down, wife left them, etc, and the Polls were solid up through elections. Oh, one guy may have a surge, but NOT by 20 Points for NO REASON from behind (a REPIG) in the few days BEFORE the election to make it a HORSE RACE.

Granted the Media WANTS a fight or their ratings suck, BUT it wasn't SO GODDAMN BLATANT as it is now, and it's becoming a Common thing now, some won't remember soon that Polls didn't swing so INCREDIBLY in the future, the kids or folks that ain't all that old..

I don't know whether the Media is actually complicit or just into getting ratings, or if the Right wing is just using that Response by the Media to further their goals, but one thing for certain is that SO MANY OF THESE RACES AT THE SAME TIME is a Mathmatical IMPOSSIBILITY.

And the fact that they SEEM to happen in areas where "coincidentally" it will make or break a Trend for the right.

If someone told you that some day in the future that a pResident would be chosen in a country of 350 MILLION people, by a mere 500 votes would you believe it? Hell, no WRITER would put that in a BOOK, or the book wouldn't SELL.

I spent over a year interviewing tens of dozens of people, Scientists, Computer experts, etc while making a film about EVoting and I can tell you with complete assurance that we are having a NUMBER RUN DOWN ON US, and what better way than to LET the Dems win this one, besides the fact that it was SO OVERWHELMING that they couldn't RUN the MARGINS on these races, that THESE races are being decided by a Computer Program, voter disenfranchisement, fraudulent letters, and sheer racism...

Like the OP says, let the DEMS get into office, and let THEM TRY to get a handle on what equates to 30 years of Damage to civil rights in a mere two years, and THEN bring in our hero, McCain, to FIX the problems those POOR DEMS "couldn't" handle..

AND to RIG the machines for THAT ELECTION, after that full blown fascism CANNOT be stopped. They WILL hold all the cards, and the Pendulum will not swing back as DIEBOLD will the the unit that NAIL the Pendulum INTO one Position, never to move again without torches and pitchforks and the common folks surrounding the castle to "kill" the "monster" :)

BE VIGILANT, they haven't STOPPED.

Good Post, thanks for Alerting people - this is RIGHT up Rove's ALLEY..

12. For example, the machines could have an '08 'millenium bug'...
... buried within the 'proprietry' software.

If an intensive effort to to find out what is going on within the electoral process is not undertaken the mid-term elections will be nothing but a brief pause before a full descent into hell.

How can such a review be guaranteed?

3. Maybe it's voter supression
The same thing they've been doing for decades. And the machines are just junk that should be fixed whether they were used to steal any election or not.

4. I EXPECT our democratic congress to END private corporations running our elections.
ANYTHING less IS CORRUPT. Let's see just how honest our new government is going to be, and how quickly.
This IS the MOST important issue our democracy faces. WE NEED to keep this issue at the forefront, and keep the pressure on.

Keep writing, Keep calling and don't stop until our elections are safe.

5. On Cspan there was

a Repug this morning (reynolds?) and he was listing all these come from behind Puke victories, including his own, he was naming, Pryce, Schmidt, Geoff Davis, etc... There is probably some common denominator among these unlikely victories that went against early polls in a big way...Early exit polls had Davis leading 48%-47% with about half the precincts reporting, then suddenly he wins with 52%, weeks earlier, polls had him losing in double digit percentages. That's just after a quick check... you may find similar things with the others. These Reps policies need to be checked against the others that had amazing wins despite widespread loss all around.

In addition this letter needs further investigation:

http://dark-wraith.com/docs/GOPtrain.pdf

The Board of Elections of each county in Ohio chooses a certain number of people from each political party to serve as poll workers at elections. A gentleman who initially asked to be selected by the Board of Elections for Franklin County (which includes the state capitol, Columbus) on the Democratic side was told there were no slots remaining, so he called back and got a slot on the Republican side. This poll worker has requested that his name not be used in this article.

On November 1, he attended the formal training provided by the Franklin County Board of Elections (BOE) and thought he was ready to go. To his surprise, that very afternoon in the mail he received a form letter from the Ohio Republican Party informing him that, although he had completed the "required" training, on Thursday (November 2) he could receive "optional" training provided by the Ohio GOP at a private facility. Again, the letter was not from the Franklin County Board of Elections nor from the Secretary of State of Ohio (the state department that oversees Ohio elections) nor from any department or agency thereof; it was from a political party offering what appeared to be its own training beyond what state and county officials have deemed appropriate and adequate for poll workers.

7. Did anyone count all the
Democratic near-losses in New York and Ohio? Something like over a dozen that we all lost by a 49%-51% margin, all just in those two states and all with Repuglican incumbents. I'm just sayin'.
