1. Hear Hear!!
The Restoration of the Fairness Doctrine. The dissolution of the laws that allow them to own ALL MEDIA in an area, and the dissolving of Clear Channel, PERIOD. :)

2. Oh, that's a Kerry bill
My hero. Heh.

I wonder which Dem is going to be chairing the committee that one is in, or even which committee has to approve it first. Happen to know?

3. More Important...Stop Any Lame Duck Moves At More Deregulation
A bill to allow the large corporations even more domination of the public airwaves was thwarted at the last moment by, of all people, McCain. But that was two years ago, the corporates figured they'd throw some more money onto K Street and that would do the trick. Many were ready to jump earlier this year. Now with the Democrats coming into control of key committees, the corporations may just attempt to slip through a dereg bill in the slew of last minute fleecing in the lame duck session.

Broadcasting is about to choke on its largess. Radio is in dire circumstances...to the point where Clear Channel could be carved up in a few months and many other companies are teetering on the financial abyss. Television isn't far behind...look at the troubles with NBC & Tribune...hundreds of jobs cut as a last gasp at keeping the bottom line within sight. These corporates need deregulation to jump start their morbid stock prices and eliminate even more competition. Either that or they'll try to get a federal bail-out.

Keep an eye on this. Hopefully future Speaker Pelosi will just shut this brothel down with only the funding to keep the juice on in the offices until January.
