2. CNN says only 10 undecided
Of those the Dems appear to have won 3 just looking at current vote counts. Using their numbers we will have 232 vs 203 if those leading the counts win.

Those CONS in OH-2 are terminally STOOPID. Now I know why I left. But I'm glad OH went blue and I had something to do about it. Time to write to Sherrod & Ted, congrats!

15. Right, CNN still has them undecided but it looks like RCP called those
RCP is linked to CNN. If you click on OH-02 at RCP, for example, you will arrive at the CNN page that covers the race for Schmidthead, where you will see it's still undecided. I guess RCP figures in that case that a 2% advantage with all precints reporting is close enough to call. I agree, particularly when I think about races such as the Virginia Senate victory.

That's OH-15, my district. Heard her on the radio while taking the kids to school.

21. 20k left to count and she's only behind 2800
This looks good for us. Almost all of the outstanding votes are in Kilroy-friendly Franklin County (Columbus).

5. In NC, Robin Hayes (R) only leads by about 300 votes
If the provisional ballots are counted we may be able to oust him and win another seat for us.

6. Mostly because they are tight races
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 06:34 AM by Lasher
LA-02 and TX-23 will not be decided until December runoff elections. Both seats will be Democratic, however, because those elections will be between Democrats.

As I mentioned upthread, there are only 8 undecided races now.

Edit for diction.

13. It looks like the difference in all but one is less than 1%
• Connecticut’s 2nd District: At the latest count, Democratic challenger Joe Courtney led three-term Republican Rep. Rob Simmons by 170 votes out of 242,472 counted, a difference of .08 percent.

• Georgia’s 12th District: Freshman Democratic Rep. John Barrow holds a narrow lead in the rematch of his close 2004 defeat of one-term Republican Rep. Max Burns. Running under a district map redrawn prior to this election by the Republican-controlled state legislature, Barrow led Burns by 51.2 percent to 48.8 percent —a margin of about 3,400 votes with 96 percent of precincts reporting.

• New Mexico’s 1st District: Rep. Heather A. Wilson (R) led by about 1,150 votes out of more than 201,000 cast, a difference of half a percentage point, with 99 percent of precincts reporting.

• North Carolina’s 8th District: The final count of the extremely close race in the south-central part of the state will determine if Democrat Larry Kissell succeeded in his bid to defeat four-term Republican Rep. Robin Hayes — which would be one of the year’s biggest upsets — or fell just short. With all precincts reporting in official returns, Incumbent Robin Hayes (R) led Larry Kissell (D) by 456 votes out of more than 120,000 counted, a margin of two-tenths of 1 percent.

• Washington’s 8th District: The hotly contested race between incumbent Rep. Dave Reichert (R) and Darcy Burner (D) is on the undecided list because so little of the vote has been counted, largely because of major flooding that hit the rain-soaked district on Tuesday. The latest AP report showed Reichert leading by 51 percent to 49 percent with fewer than a third of the precincts reporting.

• Wyoming at-large: Incumbent Barbara Cubin (R) hung on to a lead of 970 votes over Gary Traunerout (D) with nearly 193,000 cast. This is a difference of half a percentage point.

The remaining two undecided races are the December runoffs that I mentioned upthread:

• Louisiana’s 2nd District: Incumbent William J. Jefferson (D) will go up against Karen Carter (D) in a December 9 runoff.

• Texas’ 23rd District: Incumbent Henry Bonilla (R) has been defeated but the winner will not be determined until a December runoff between Had Bonilla (D) and Ciro D. Rodriguez (D)

18. That's possible, and I think probable
Remember, two of these are undecided because of December runoffs. We Democrats have already won these two seats. One is a retention for us and the other is a pickup. So you can already add one to our net gain, assume your current tally has not already taken this into account. By my count that's 29 seats in the House right now - excluding any possible impact that recounts might have later.

That leaves six more undecided races according to RCP, and we're ahead in two of them.

20. Lots of fraud & touch screen shenanigans out there- lots more than 14 races in question
At least one Congressional race in Florida appears obviously hacked; Jennings/Buchanan
4 others also questionable

likely lots in other states that should be audited; millions of votes were documented to have
been manipulated in 2004 by the EIRS monitoring system
