Has Rummy's departure freed him from being subpoenaed?
I'm not sure about the law on this, but can the House still require him to appear? Or, as Maureen Dowd pointed out this morning, maybe we'll just be stuck with Secretary Gates sitting in the hearing chair repeating himself: "I don't know. I wasn't there when it happened."

5. No sir
Now that he's not even an official, it'll be a breeze. Not even Abu Gonzales with his ridiculous definitions of immunity can save him now.

6. Actually, it's even easier to subpoena him.
Considering he's no longer a member of the cabinet, he's even easier to subpoena.

7. The question is- if you sue von Rumsfeldt will he still be able to...
...have someone in your family beheaded like he did to Nick Berg?

8. No, and the best thing about "Citizen Rumsfeld"...
... is that he now has to pay the lawyers out of his own pocket!
