5. Alex Sink won a really important post |

I wouldn't worry too much - Crist is fairly moderate and things are slowly turning blue.
Two more years, it could be a pretty even split.
We can do this.

Davis could have won, but neither he nor the big shots who were backing him thought it necessary to do any campaigning until it was almost over. The Florida dem state party was almost bankrupt by bad administration goof ups a few years ago and hasn't gotten back on it's feet, so they were of no help. But never mind that. Bob Graham, Davis' chief backer and one of the state's most popular ex senators and residents, should have launched some early ads of support. Instead there was a large black hole which Crist gladly filled in with comedic and insulting advertisement. My local dem party rep told me that the Davis campaign was counting on someone to "out" Crist before the election was over. That just made me glad that Davis lost. I just wish he had gone away early on and let Rod Smith represent us.

7. I agree - I practically live in Davis' backyard |
|
and it was Crist, Crist, Crist all the time, on my t.v., on every street corner, EVERYWHERE. My own children could quote the "missing Davis" commercials, they were so prevalent.
It was frustrating.

Even with the "non"-campaign Davis ran, it was neck and neck there at the end for a while. With any real effort, I think he could have won. Worst managed race I ever saw.
BTW - Yippee for Sink. Brilliant lady and very charismatic. Met her at the convention.
