A word of advice. Remember how pissed off you were for the last 6 years?
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 08:49 AM by NNN0LHI
Stay that way! Or you will regret you didn't in a couple of years. The Republicans will not sleep until they control everything again. They have given powers to Bush that they never thought would be given to a Democratic president with a Democratic Congress. They are hysterical over this outcome. They will fight like cornered rats. Don't let them get the edge over us again. You know what the result of that happening is now.

Keep fighting like we didn't win anything or before long the Republicans will have it all again.

Don

2. Agree 100%
My generation has been through these battles against the conservatives since 1964....each time we thought we'd won, well, the snake just grew another head and popped up somewhere else. I suspect our generation has a few battles left in us but we need to "cut the head off this snake" AND train/inspire another generation to stand guard at the ramparts. :patriot:

14. Agreed...
I feel much calmer now after this election (even though our great candidate Dan Seals lost IL-10 -- but only by 6% points!!!). We've all worked so hard to get to this point & we must keep the momentum going.

Here are 3 more interesting quotes from the East...

"The enemy teaches you inner strength." - Dalai Lama

"Waiting is not mere empty hoping. It has the inner certainty of reaching the goal." - I Ching

"The strength of a nation is derived from the integrity of its homes." - Confucius

5. and at the same time
don't make the same mistakes THEY made-investigate only when it's warranted-focus on the future not the past. They are in such fear right now because they know how THEY reacted to power.Bill Maher said it best last night on Larry King-we ain't like them. What did Lincoln say about our better angels?

7. we need to prosecute, impeach
any dem who is against that needs to step out of the way. we need to go after the neo-cons as vigorously as they have ruined the country over the last few years.

8. and look how well that worked out for them
and us...it almost ruined this country-we can do better-we ARE better than that.I'd rather see my party's energies being spent doing positive things-and especially election reform so what we went through down here in 2000 and in Ohio in '04 NEVER happens again

13. Investigations!
Unlike the Whitewater debacle and the infamous blowjob, the Republicans have provably done illegal things. The job we have to do is to make sure there's a front page headline *every day* between now and November '08 that reads "Republican hands in cookie jar." This crop of thieves and poltroons has to be so far discredited that nobody besides Rush Limbaugh in an oxycontin haze will vote for them. And if that leads to impeachment, so be it.

9. The best way to fight is shed full light on all the crimes of this Administration and the MSM's
failure to shed light/keep the people informed: if full revelation of all 'puke crimes are revealed, including where all the money has gone, look for 12 to 15 'puke Senators not being re-elected in '08, the 'pukes losing another 30 to 60 seats in the House, and a dem elected president (with minimal election fraud and voter suppression) (how about Clark, a true :patriot:?).

10. Don't forget about the media, the fundies, the military, pharma, etc., etc.

You're NUTS if you think that the forces we've been fighting have now just gone away.

There are 24/7 media forces which are continuing to crank out the conservative LIE.

Big pharma will NOT just give up HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS easily.

The same media which has been showcasing right wing pundits and politicians because "they're the ones in power" will CONTINUE to do so as a matter of being 'balanced'.

The military industrial complex. 'K?

19. Yes! I've heard "reality check" anger in two places already.

1--Women at a church dinner! "The Christians didn't come out to vote. The Democrats are all for the gays and abortion."

2. Callers to local talk radio. "The media forced Rumsfeld out."

Recommended.

And if anyone thinks the neocon plans to control the ME is dead, think again. We have a lot of work to do, and all this "work together" talk is bullshit. They're liars.

24. The pissed-offness is right under the glee
I was spoofing Pelosi's lunch with Bush today

So she arrives at the lunch as just her normal self.

But then when she goes off to the ladies' room, POOF - they zap her into a "A POD" and replace her with one of the lizard people

I think we are all gonna be on the watch

I agree wholeheartedly. There is nothing wrong with righteous and justified anger and we should keep it until we have fixed the big clusterf*ck the rightwingers have created.

26. Yep.
Personally, on a local note, I want the move to get rid of Gordon Smith, the Repukian Senator from Oregon, to start TODAY.

There is no reason a hugely blue state like Oregon should have that asshole taking up a valuable Senate seat.

27. Amen!
I've learned my lesson and learned it well; I will NEVER again take American Democracy and Freedom for granted.

The Majority of Americans who voted voted for sanity to be restored to our Government but the race was too close for comfort. We MUST continue to get our message out, fight for what we believe in and let others know just what is at stake.

As the old saying goes "Democracy is not a Spectator Sport".

Indeed!
