Actually only one of my guys won (but won big time-governor) but I'm a little hesitant to remove them.

1. For the first time in over 20 years, nobody stole them.
They're staying up for awhile.

13. Or vandalized them
Same here.

Every campaign season I've had signs stolen, defaced or damaged - except for this one. Early on, a neighbor did have one of the school board candidate's signs uprooted but it wasn't carted away or otherwise damaged. It had been pulled up but left in the yard. In past election cycles signs have disappeared altogether or have been found in the street or alley way ripped up. But not this year.

We've had our Nancy Boyda for Congress sign up since August. It was joined by several others when they became available in September and October. It's been like a Festivus Miracle, not a single one of our signs has been touched. I took it as a positive sign that the usual GOP thugs had given up and lost hope.

In related news, the two neighbors who have displayed GOP candidate signs in the past didn't have any this year. Not a single one. In fact, they have been pretty quiet for some time.

20. I wouldn't mind if somebody took them now.
It's save me the trouble of finding a way of disposing of them.

3. Just had two up for my state senator and rep.
And their campaigns are so cool, they sent someone around yesterday to pick them up.

4. Some pissed off GOPer tore my signs down last night
I put them right back up this morning and smeared them with Vaseline. (Only because I don't have any Ben-Gay on hand. That always gets 'em!)

18. A Hit-and-Run by Capito's Capo
Damn, she sure had a bankroll behind her campaign. It seemed I was getting slick campaign brochures (expensive ones) in my mailbox several times a week.

BTW, Gore/Feingold sure sounds good to me! :D

5. Don't toss those yard signs
When the IMPEACH BUSH campaign ramps up, they can be recycled...staple or glue the impeach message over the original message.

11. Yep, I keep mine
Also noticed that our Culver (IA's new governor) signs are plastic. My guess is that they will last until re-election time.

10. They were in my Apartment window
My lease say you can't place any sign, let alone anything political, on the apartment grounds. But, my lease doesn't say anything about putting political signs in my windows so I did. You could see the window from the nearby street so they were good advertising. Some of my neighbors even visited me to get info about the election because they saw the signs in my window. I took them out of my window yesterday morning.

14. I didn't leave the house yesterday
And was going to remove my signs today.
However, I went in my yard and there weren't any.
My daughter said that our local party came and removed them yesterday which makes sense because many of the folks will be running again.

15. Someone stole ours election night.
All the DeVos signs are still up, but someone stole our Granholm sign. Thank goodness they didn't throw a rock through either window with Granholm signs in them.

Just for that, I'm leaving my signs up a bit longer. ;)

19. Other: the campaigns/local party makes a sweep
and takes them back to our local HQ where they are returned to the respective campaigns. But I usually keep them. I've got signs from every campaign my husband and I have worked on as mementos.

I also have about a dozen illegallly placed GOP signs in my garage dating back to 2000. My friends and I make periodic runs and remove GOP signs (they are always GOP signs) that have been placed on public right-of-ways, public parks and other public lands. We don't let them claim public areas as GOP zones. I don't just keep them though. I've been using them to make my own yard signs. I take them apart, turn them inside out and make up my own yard signs. It's my own recycling program - turning trash into something useful. Besides it seems only fitting to use B/C signs to keep my neighbors aware of the things like the death toll in Iraq or the amount of money we're spending on the war or let them know how much Abramoff/DeLay money our representatives have taken.
