2. I am having a hard time finding that looks good when uploaded

this is the one I would like to have but it looks like crap when uploaded

I am trying to find one that gives a clear shot of her smile - she has a good one ;)

on dit: I like what the backdrop says in the one you cropped - which IMO would be the best one - having the leader and message all together

3. I've found when making avatars

that you have to lighten them up just a little bit for them to show up.

7. How do you upload them?

I've tried to upload these but it says error,page not found whenever I try to do it.:(

12. you need to find a picture and then save it to your

pictures/photos folder in windows.

Then click on the "options" at the top of your page(s) here at DU

Then click on "Edit your profile"

This will bring up a sub screen here you will be able to "Browse" for pictures out of your windows folder that all of your photos have been saved to.

next click on the photo you want and then click the open button at the bottom of the window of the photos folder

Next the sub-box/window that came up when you clicked on "Edit your profile" should now have something loaded in the window next to the browse button.

click on jpg or gif - I use the jpg command

and then click "upload"

it should give you a failure or successful response - close this window

now you should have the DU page "Edit your profile" up you will now need to put the command of personal/172534.jpg in the avatar window which should still be blank - I am not sure if your numbers are same or different from mine but there should be some instructions there to help.

once all of this is done click on update at the bottom of "Edit your profile" page

hope this helps - also you have use/shrink pictures down to an allowable size -
