Hayworth is going to try and steal AZ CD 5!!!!
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/1109elect-cd51109.html

Don't expect to learn for several days, and possibly much longer, whether Democrat Harry Mitchell has displaced Republican Congressman J.D. Hayworth.

Countywide, some 200,000 ballots remained to be counted Wednesday, Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell said.

Hayworth's camp was hoping that the unknown number from his 5th Congressional District will favor him enough to overcome Mitchell's current lead of slightly fewer than 6,000 votes.

The state Republican Party was mobilizing 72 volunteers on Wednesday for training to conduct a hand count if a Superior Court judge rules that one is warranted. Democrats said talk about a recount is premature until all ballots have been processed.

I should have known this asshole wouldn't accept his defeat.

1. You know the old saying...
He can shit in one hand and wish in the other, then see which one fills up first.

4. He's behind about 6,000 votes
It's a bigger loss than either Burns or Allen had.

5. Repubs mobilizing volunteers?
Surely Arizona won't allow partisan people to conduct the count? Don't they have people who work the elections to do this? We definitely need a national voting system, consistent standards, impartial poll watchers, etc. Even Repubs can agree on this now.

7. Sometimes You Have To Drive A Stake Thru The Heart of Evil....
... I would hope the vote holds up and we are finally freed from the rantings of a madman, but you never know what the outcome might be if his highly 'trained' volunteers are involved in the hand count.

Sounds like a Blackwell move in Ohio. I would not put anything past this guy and his supporters.

9. Yep.
Whoever has the most votes should win, whether we as liberals like the winner or not.

11. The 200,000 number is misleading
That number is for Maricopa county. Only a tiny fraction of that is Hayworth's district.

He was consistently behind throughout the vote tally, the few thousand votes that are left to count for his district statistically should not be able to put him over Mitchell. He would have to have about 100% of those votes.

If he comes out of this with a "win" I WILL IN NO WAY BELIEVE IT!!!!!!

14. AZ PEOPLE! Contact Mitchells campaign & INSIST on FEDERAL
Monitors to oversee the count.

By & large, mid-level Fed attorneys are Dem-leaning. Who the hell ELSE goes to law school then takes a low-paying (for a lawyer) job as a public servant?

15. 6,000 votes is enough to stand up to any recount.
The most that will flip either way is a few hundred.

J.D. is whistling in the wind.
