Are Democrats still complaining about e-voting?
Looking for artillery for another message board argument, since the resident freepers over there are using Annthrax Annie talking points wondering why Dems aren't complaining about them anymore (allegedly).

I found some stuff about GOPers complaining, but I need a little more. Anyone have any links?

Thanks much.

2. No, we're enjoying our win.
We'll start working on the issues when we've taken the hill.

4. Of course we are, but most of us are still celebrating.
Just because they've got nothing to do now but pout doesn't mean we've changed our minds.

Our win has changed nothing about our stance that diebold machines are insecure crap. Our democracy is in jeopardy as long as we can't be sure our votes count.

5. Shit man there have been eight to ten threads each day complaining
And many more on the irony of George Allen and others Repukes in tight races all standing around with their dicks in their hands asking "can someone tell me why we didn't need a paper trail again?!?!?"

7. THis year, we monitored them heavier and went immediately at any question of
irregularities.

Also, with all the attention on Diebold, kkkarl rove moved to robocalling. But, there were still voting problems in heavily Democratic areas. The media covered it heavily on my tv. This time, we didn't sit back and take it.

9. I imagine the wins were much greater
than they were reported to be. I'm sure there were problems with e-voting and they still need to be fixed.

10. The problems aren't solve so I would guess that we are
I think what Ann and her followers would like to see though is "Well maybe we'd beter leave the Republicans in charge just in case there are any problems iwth voting. Let's not pretend she's an honest broker in this story.

12. The e-voting still needs to be eliminated. There's no way to
know otherwise what has been stolen/not stolen.

We need to go back to the old-fashioned paper ballots. Cheating will still occur, but not as easily.

13. Now is the absolute best time to enforce e-vote reform.
Voter verified paper ballots. EVERYONE will be on board.

14. Thom Hartmann talked about how exit polls VA and MT
showed wider winning margins for Webb and Tester than the slim margins they won by. Makes me wonder if perhaps greater turn out screwed up Repuke steal attempt?

Whatever, the issue did get some wide play and there were problems. Even some Repukes complaining including Santorum people who initially election night were asking some machines here in PA to be impounded cause they claimed votes were being flipped to Casey.

We need to demand of our new Dem Congress this has to be an issue in '07 so it can be fixed for '08 race. There must be a paper trail for the voter and a receipt for election officials that can be recounted. Also there should be random audits of results to ensure accurate voting.

And if possible we need to find a way to stop the voter purges and prevent voter id laws from screwing voters.

16. In a nutshell, YES. They need to go.
And now hopefully they can see why a paper trail is necessary.

I'm so sick of this us vs. them football game mentality. 1) It's not just about winning, it's about the core of democracy and making sure everybody who wants to vote and is eligible gets to vote, and that everyone who does vote has their vote counted. Just because we won a lot this round doesn't mean they're okay. 2) Having to push to make sure we have enough votes to counteract any possible thievery is a ridiculous thing to have to worry about in this soupposedly great country.

On a side note, we need a better system for determining eligibility, or at least relegating it. Purging voters based on party affiliation is not okay.

until after January. Republicans won't let them.

I would also question why they are against looking into voter irregularities - is it simply that they have to disagree with everything we talk about?

It's like fighting against people who are worried about Global Warming, who gets hurt by protecting the Earth?
