Rumors on FR that Cheney will resign- update: thread deleted
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 01:56 PM by NewYorkerfromMass
O.K. They briefly had a thread but deleted
There is certainly a sound logic to it given that Team 41 is exerting major pressure to transform the WH.

They are attempting to drive a wedge into the Neocon heart and drive it from their party.
However, problem is that Neocons aren't really Republican or Democrat.
They will use whatever party that allows them to sow their seeds.
It is a good time to keep eyes focused on the DLC.

25. OK, I'm going back on the record again. I said BEFORE the
2004 presidential elections that Cheney would not finish out his second term. That he would resign for "health" reasons so that Chucklenuts could nominate another feckless thug to fill the position so that feckless thug could run as an "incumbent" for the repugs during the '08 cycle. Mark it down.

Of course, I don't think the repugs ever envisioned they would have to get a VP nominee through a DEMOCRATIC Senate. That does throw a monkey's wrench in their little "coup." Maintaining power by any means necessary is paramount in their economic domination for their bank accounts. The hell with the country, this is all about money for The Cabal.

They will round up the Christian Right and get them back on board, they will throw fear out at every opportunity, they will rely on all of the old tried and true methods of "time of war" shtick to get the sheeple on board and voting against their own interests. Never under estimate the power of a group of people to be really, really stupid.

Rummy and Cheney were a tandem. I would imagine Darth's days are numbered, with Poppy's minions preparing to insert themselves into the administration, I would imagine there's not much room for him anymore.

27. I heard this this morning, and that they would put Condi up as VP
GW can't afford to get rid of Cheney, as he is his protection. However, if they put Condi up as VP, she would be the first Black and first woman VP, then they could move her up to President a couple months before his term was over and she would be the first Black and first woman President, thus beating out Hillary and Obama.

39. Condi will never be it
Look, im sorry to have to point this out. First she is a woman, and the sexist majority of Republicans will not accept a woman President. Its okay for Dole, but you know, when your Bob Dole's wife its a good thing. Nancy Reagan could get herself a prominant postition inside the party as well. Neither one could be President or Vice President. It would bring out way to many Republicans that just dont think a woman can or should be anywhere outside of sitting at home and raising the kids. Especially the evangelicals. My great aunt was a holy roller who talked in tongues and cast out demons and was a whole part of the whole evangelical radical right thing. I KNOW these people, and who they are and Im telling you.......<ahem> "The Bible says a womans place is in the home. God told woman to leave her parents and to cling to her husband. Its a mans duty to be master of his family and a womans duty is to obey her husband" Yes, those are actually quotes from several of these people. The whole "to love and obey" part of the traditional wedding vows? THEY mean it. Folks, this is who the Christian Right are. A womans place is serving her husband, thats what they really really really believe deep down. Every single last one of them would come out to vote to keep a woman from being President. THATS why they keep popping up Hillary's name as who we are gonna run in 2008, because just the idea of a woman(and one of those sinful Clintons to boot)being President gets this Evangelical base fired up like nothing else.

Then there is the color of her skin. You only have to look at what happened in Tennessee to understand how deep racial prejudice runs inside the Republican party. Ford didnt lose because he had a single Democrat vote against him, he lost because a record number of redneck-racist Republicans werent gonna let "that n*" get elected. Trent Lott said the country would have been better off if Strom Thurmond has won the presidency and of course it caused a flap and he got in trouble for it right? You think that actually had to do with him being a racist or becuase one of his political rivals knew that publicly crying racism would make him step aside and let someone else step into the leadership role?

Ask yourself this, if it really was about racism, why did not a single person say "and why were dealing with the racist around here, what the hell is Strom Thurmond doing in congress?" Strom Thurmond ran on a platform of keeping black people segregated. There are audio's on the net of his campaign speeches. Every third or fourth word is a racial slur as he preaches about how as president he will make sure the n* dont pollute white schools, and the n* dont pollute white restaurants, etc. If the Republicans really cared about the racism in the party, why would no one use the Lott thing to speak out about what a racist prick Thurmond was.

Racism runs DEEP in the Republican party, and nothing would fire parts of the base up as much as keeping someone who is black out of office. If it was Colin Powell, the racist would still howl about it, but they wouldnt be a majority so that might work. If Condi was a white woman, then a large part of the base would howl about it, but she is Bush right hand man so to speak, so even then I dont think it would be a majority against her. But you CANNOT have both. There is no way on earth it would happen.

Bush might do it because he can appoint anyone and i think he is mad enough and bitter enough that he might do it to spite the handlers his daddy as sent in to try and do damage control so Jeb can get elected one day. But, Condi would never win. If she automatically got the Republican party nomination for President all we would have to do is nominate a white guy and it would be the largest landslide victory in history. We would get at least 30% of the Republican vote. 10% that would vote against her cuz she was black, 10% that would vote against her cuz she was a woman and 10% that would vote against her because she was both.

And make no mistake, we would get that 30%. This isnt one of those things where they would stay home in disgust. The racist/sexist part of the Republican party Im talking about would ALL come out just to vote for the white man over the black woman. They would care about voting for the other party, this hatred runs deeper than party lines. You might get that 10% pure racist to stay home if it was Obama against Condi, but even then we would get huge numbers of crossover votes because it would be the lesser sin to have vote for a black man than to vote for a black woman. There is no way Condi can win as a Republican. It wont ever happen.

Daddy Bush knows this, and he wont let junior do something like that. Lol, of course if he does forbid the boy to do it that might be what it takes for junior to throw a fit and do it anyway.

If it happens, its because Daddy Bush as has arranged so that at the last minute Jeb can announce he is seeking the nomination for president in 2008 because Condi is too devisive for the party, and that way Jeb would be guaranteed to win the nomination.

Given their ass-kicking, while not changing anything of substance (i.e., perpetual war for perpetual profit). Now the Prince of Insufficient Light can *officially* go back to Halliburton tho' he unofficially was with them the whole time.

Maybe not as the VP, but they need to end George's smoothly or he has not chance at the nomination.
