the stakes are to high to simply fold the cards. Since Lieberman has said he is going to caucus with the Democrats, the Repubs need one seat to maintain control of the Senate. Allen would be that seat. They have nothing to lose by asking for a recount and everything to gain. He will ask for a recount.

See the former Att.Gen who ran for Governor and LOST to Tim Kaine has a mother who basically pushed her twin sons into politics and she pulls their strings from Scott County WAAAAY out in the far western part of the state. Seems that in the 2004 elections some people who never actually existed voted in the county where she is the registrar.
