I quite. I not going to vote again. It's time I gave up on this political bullshit. I just hope the nuke attack comes soon. Let it be on the East Coast where it belongs.

#11 Tairos 11/7/2006 09:27PM PST

I think this demostrates pretty clearly that voting should be a privilege, NOT a right.

#28 Adrenalyn 11/7/2006 09:33PM PST

can I be the first to say it on LGF?
Impeach Bush and Cheney

throw them out and hope Hastert has the balls to fight back

#69 Bill Amos 11/7/2006 09:42PM PST

Even if the senate goes democratic thank god Lieberman is there to switch and protect us from extremists !

#82 mbpaul 11/7/2006 09:45PM PST

Maybe a divided government is not a bad thing. They can't do anything to screw us up anymore than we already are. We just need to weather the nuclear attack when it happens and we will be okay. Let the military take over. I advocate a military coup.

#88 semadar 11/7/2006 09:46PM PST

OMG, my southern neighbors, why are the Dems winning, get ready for happy terrorist parades.

#272 Greg 11/7/2006 10:43PM PST
Bush is losing precisely because he has took the high road after 9/11 instead of Zyclon B-ing most of the muslim world after attacking our shores as they have been doing to our shipping since 1800.

This is a world war and not a tea party for the Yale/Harvard clique...

Islam must have a boot smashing into its face forever until it becomes a grown up religion not bent on murdering everyone on the planet...

Bush cannot comprehend this or the Donks even less...they do not have the intestinal fortitude for it...

Almost exactly six years ago, Dennis Hastert said the very same thing. Y'know, every once in a while I actually feel sorry for them because I know how it feels to lose big. Then I read something like that and I realize I don't have to feel sympathetic.

They are apparently still angry over the
Barbary Wars. Jefferson fought a war against the Barbary States - Morocco, Libya, Algeria, and Tunisia - around the year 1800. Jefferson did not believe in having offensive ships - he feared that America would become an oppressive global empire - so our merchant marine at that time was completely undefended. When they went to Africa they had a lot of trouble with pirates. That has absolutely no connection to our current terrorism problems at all. That guy is just a moran.

They've poisoned it for a decade, and now they're totally marginalized. No more Coulter on Hardball, no more Pigboy on the Evening News. They've lost, and we have a golden opportunity to get back to arguing about marginal tax rates with rational Republicans. We should take it, not let a bunch of hotheads start turning it into a war on the DLC or whatever bug is up their ass.

Okay Charles, I will. I respect you too much. I'm sorry everyone. Tonight may be one of the worst nights of my life. I can't believe how depressed I am. I know that by writing this you can't see how I am here. I'm sobbing in pain and anger and frustration. I don't know what to do. This is one night when I wish I wasn't here alone in my apartment. This is one night I wish I had a friend who's shoulder I can cry on. I am so mad. I hate this world. I hate myself because I got so invested in a bunch of losers. I thought it meant something. I'm so sorry. You are all really smart, good people. Take care. I need to go to bed.

I have suffered from depression for much of my life, & I swear that if I hadn't gotten treatment I never would have survived the last few years. It has been a nightmare. Now mbpaul will get a taste of what we went through the last few years. It's not fun, either.

If Bush and Cheney were impeached, we'd have President Pelosi.

And, Agent Mike? With all due respect I think relations between the new Congress and the FBI and SS would go much better if a little balance were applied in your investigations. Looks like easy pickins over there...

Green Footballs?

Does anyone know?

I call 'em Little Green Fascists - but I still have no clue of the origin of the real name.

59. I thought that bundles of currency used by Iraq Coalition Provisional Authority were known
as "footballs". Hence "green footballs"? But I don't know how old the LGF site is compared to the Iraq War II.

67. This is Why...
...when we reach out to the other side, which we need to do, we should just forget about the neocons & fundamentalist-Christians. Their minds are completely closed. They never liked us & never will. I really think the last few years were about how they can't get over Vietnam & Watergate. They have had a grudge against us for 30+ years & can't get over it, & they have made the world suffer because of this. They felt that their need for revenge was more important than stopping terrorism. So let's reach out to the moderate Republicans & Independents who gave our side a chance. They might have some good ideas about Iraq. Let's listen to them instead of pushing them aside like Bush did. Some moderate Republicans tried to warn him that Iraq would be a mistake, & he didn't take them seriously. Let's form a coalition with them. It will help us tremendously two years from now. The neocons & fundies can live in the political wilderness, for all I care. They don't want to help the country because they like being bitter too much. Who needs them?

76. I think you give the fundies too much credit for actually having some "reason" to hate us.
I think most are just so ignorant and brainwashed they are hopeless. Mixed in with that is a total inability to deal with reality and complex facts. They want "God" to just tell them what to think and do.

87. Yep. It says LGF readers are reality impaired. Lieberman ain't going anywhere.
Lieberman switching sides is about as likely as Olympia Snowe switching. It may fit somebody's ideological blue print, but it doesn't fit into Lieberman's psychological need to be a winner. Remember, rats desert sinking ships.

It is so sort of biblical. God's nasty response to our electoral repudiation of his party is a sodomish nuking of all us sinners. They are truly living in a different universe.

Down, but not out

We may have lost both the House and the Senate without switching a single seat over to the red side of the aisle, but there's still hope. In comes in the form of William J. Jefferson of Louisiana's 2nd congressional district. He didn't get over 50% of the vote on Tuesday. Under Louisiana's election laws, that means he has run in a run-off election.

Although he's a Demoncrat, he subscribes to many of our most cherished Republican values--things like graft and corruption and wasting energy by freezing $90,000 worth of bribe money in a low-efficiency freezer. Heck, he could be one of the GOP's most prized catches if we could convince him to switch parties.

That's why I'm asking you to contribute to his opponent, Karen Carter, who is also a Demoncrat. My hope is that when he sees that he's facing a well-funded opponent, he'll turn to the Republican National Congressional Committee for help. Then we can coerce him into switching parties.

I know many of you are thinking that I must be some kind of genius for hatching this plan. I hope you'll send a note to Our Leader telling him so. I hear he's looking for a new genius.
