"UNSUNG HEROES of the REVOLUTION" - John Kerry
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 02:56 PM by Atman
I took a different approach than most of the post-mortem cartoons, and perhaps a surprising one since I'm not much of a fan of the recipient of my first "Unsung Heroes" non-award.

Since sig lines are down, click the link (and read the narrative underneath it if you're looking for an explanation). Hope you like...something different for me.

UNSUNG HEROES of the REVOLTION - A new 'TOON

2. I'm glad you gave Kerry the 'non-award', but I'm not convinced that his
flub has ruined his career.

3. I'm not either
But I was wondering...did he and Theresa get invited to any of the parties BEFORE the house was called for the dems? Or was he still poison until they knew the results? But I think you're right, this probably won't end his career, but it will add one more thing to his detractors' quiver, like inventing the internet and Love Story did for Al Gore. He might run again, but I think he'd be foolish to try.

4. Nice artwork, but why buy into the REPUBLICAN LIE MACHINE?
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 04:40 PM by emulatorloo
Which by the way also COMPLETELY FABRICATED the Al Gore invented the Internet story and completely twisted the Love Story stuff in the same way.

Please Read this book:

Big Lies: The Right-Wing Propaganda Machine and How It Distorts the Truth
by Joe Conason.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0312315619/joeconasoncom-20

And stop blaming Democrats for the Lies that are told about them and breathlessly repeated by the media.

5. You missed the point, I guess.
Believe me, I'm the LAST ONE to buy into the republican lie machine! LOL! Believe me, it's pure satire. Even though I don't think it requires that much explanation, I did write an accompanying rant to go along with it, which I suggested you read in the op.

So maybe it's too obtuse. I had fun doing it.

:hi:

We WON, dude! Lighten up!

:hi:

Actually I am pretty lightened-up! But still feeling bruised by the number of DU posts I saw where Du'ers bought into the spin that "Kerry Insulted Our Troops!"

:patriot:

PS Conason's book is damn good if you haven't read it.

6. I prefer this:
This graphic:

These words:
"Today, thanks to you, America is waking up with a new Democratic Congress ready to take office in January. Your leadership as part of the johnkerry.com community helped make this moment possible.

A Democratic Congress will restore accountability to Washington and help change a disastrous course in Iraq. The mandate is clear.

There will be lots to talk about and even more to do in the weeks ahead. But, today is a day for you to hold your heads high. We didn’t just win some important elections yesterday; we won the opportunity to lead America in a new, more promising direction.

And we proved to people all across the nation – and to ourselves – that by pulling together and acting with conviction, there is no limit to what we can achieve together.

Just look at what we did together: $14 million. More than 260 candidates, committees, and progressive causes. 43 states. Thank you so much for the personal role you played in this stunning achievement."

And the list of candidates he helped on the front page of http://www.johnkerry.com/

And this picture of him:

But then, this picture isn't bad either:

Partial to this one as well:

Or even this one, two heros of the revolution:
