invaded Iraq.

The loss of life, the $2 Trillion it will cost us, the loss of prestige abroad are each reason enough to say this but the horror now is that we have unleashed a civil war we are incapable of stopping. That is the worst tragedy.

Yes, Bush is making a mess of the environment, the courts, science, separation of church and state, and a million other things but we could live with that for 2 more years.

The war has done more damage than all the rest put together.

And for what?

That is what we should be telling the GOP hacks in the media.

2. What about the SCOTUS appointments, Roberts and Alito? They're part of
the mess.

7. I put "the courts" in there too
and believe me, I fear we lose the right to choose as much as anyone.

But. . . that still pales in comparison to the 100 people who are tortured to death each day in Iraq as a result of what we have done.

And the brave kids we sent to die and get maimed there.

The money and standing around the world we'll recover someday but the loss of life is gone forever and the country is so messed up there is not much hope Iraqis will see peace for many years to come. . .whether we pull out tomorrow or not.

IMHO

3. Appreciate the sentiment
But the Bush43 "Presidency" was engineering specifically to invade Iraq. You can't really separate the two

5. I wonder where the stock market would be had the country
continued the trend started by the Clinton/Gore years ...

Although, I wonder if the U.S. would have survived the civil war started by the right-wing extremists (read: center-right) of the Republican party 12/13/2000 had Sandy not handed the pResidency to * ...

6. Wait. Let me think
All of it?

Yep, I would, too. You are right. It was useless. Why then? It's not like he was GOING anywhere..the time to pounce would have been after something happened. What a mess. What a God-awful mess.

With that money, we could have saved Social Security AND started up health care for lower income folks. (I think.. I'm not big on figures)

Anyway, it was a waste. You are right about that. I don't want to think that our kids died in vain, but right now I'm kind of blanking on what it might possibly have accomplished that is beneficial to our country.
