Just had an incredibly sick thought. |

Bleaugh.

If that's not irony, I don't know what is. THIS will be interesting to watch.

if he leaves, everything is a toss-up. If he stays, he can feel important. The only thing that matters to Joe is Joe. As of right now he is big for the dems and he is big in his own mind. He will not leave for the repukes, he will bow to the dems and do whatever he has to do to keep his position. Joe does not care about dems or repukes. He only cares about Joe. Lovely avarice.

The radicals wanted a scalp, thought they had it, lost anyway, and inadvertantly gave Leiberman the keys to the kingdom. He can cut any deal he wants for the next six years and feel no guilt.

6. He might not be "all that"... |

I'm not so sure that the Republicans in the Sentate are going to march in such lockstep over Iraq that Joe automatically makes number 50 for any Iraq votes. He's also not likely to side with the Republicans on the majority of other issues. Sure, he has some more leverage than he used to - but I'm not sure he's ready to be called "kingmaker"...what do you think?

now that we have the real end all majority, his vote wont mean near as much because his possible swaying would be cancelled out.

I think it unlikely that he'll rock the boat, though...
