Let's face it, they had to install their puppet government in 2000. There was that big surplus that Clinton left us that they were itching to get their hands on but now that they have stuffed their pockets with the loot and then some, there really is no incentive for them to stay in a government they have broken.

1. Yes, a Democratic victory was all part of ...
... Rove's MASTER PLAN.

I can't believe we all fell for it. :sarcasm:

36. Completely.
I hear rumours that it's also part of his evil scheme that we take back the White House in '08.

Good grief, will this madness never end?

3. this kind of talk is such bullshit
Why would anyone who says this kind of shit not slit their own wrists?

In this kind of universe, you can never be good enough to win, the best that can happen is that your enemies let you think you win.

What a shitty world you must live in.

11. While I certainly don't think that the Republicans let us win...
I still don't understand why we, as a party or group, feel that we have to attack one another so quickly. This is where the Republicans have it all over us - they stick together, no matter what stupid BS the others are saying. We still have the circular firing squad mentality when one of our own makes a comment and we recommend that they commit suicide. Special!

Also, you should be open to examining all questions and all possibilities and discussing them in a civil way or you may find you are wrong more often than you are right.

While a "lets lose on purpose" scheme does no such thing.

Apples & oranges.

27. Let me rephrase this.
I'm coming from the premise that the purpose of the neo-cons was to empty that surplus from our Treasury and since many of them have a criminal mentality, my premise is possible.

If there is nothing left to steal there is no more motive in staying in government until the Democrats provide them with another surplus.

I know it's very cynical of me, but I can't help it.

31. Maybe Macaca & other unemployed Pukes will find some comfort in that theory.
Your theory would be arguable if we could believe that Macaca & others willingly gave up their jobs & prestige...

I saw plenty of motivation & figting on the part of the GOP/media- they were indeed trying very hard to win.

18. No, but I understand your concerns ...
"We've" inherited an incredible mess ... and do risk getting blamed for awful things that have been set in motion.

It's worth it to try to stem the U.S's downward spiral ... and make some positive strides.

I do know that many neocon's are sad at the loss of power, but will recover quickly because of their massive cash windfalls (after 6 years of corruption).

21. Very possible, glad people here look for the bigger picture
If we're to look at that picture though we'd have to back up, at least, decades.

The 1963 coup was a damn bloody one. For President Kennedy certainly, and many witnesses. And the Dems sanctioned that cover-up. Hell, LBJ led the cover up.

This did not start in 2000. Think about how many "outsiders" have been in the White House since 1963...

23. They let us win just like Hitler chose to lose WW2
By overreaching hubris and not giving a shit about anything but themselves.

The Republican party is now POISON but to the few faithful. Hell, there are still living Nazi's that say Hitler was a good guy. So...it doesn't mean that the majority see through the curtain..Katrina was a big part of that, some hid with the "it would never happen to me" but most of the country went, "Holy shit, they will just let us die on TV and not do a damn thing to save us". There's your small government, only money for foreign adventures, low taxes on prime time TV.

It exposed everything the Republican party stand for-which in a nutshell is;

FEND FOR YOURSELF, SUCKER!

The people see that in Iraq. People having to beg and come up with helmets and body armor for the troops while corporations like Halliburton grow fat.

Anyway, everything TOLD ME it should be a landslide, and I posted that, but I also posted that everything that has happened since December 2000 has been freaking weird. So I understand your WTF? But I'm still convinced there was vote fraud in 2004, just this time it wasn't enough to do anything without it being so obvious and yes, an uproar.

They would never just give up power, but in the end, they aren't really the true blue fascists they pretend to be. If they were, there would be no election because they knew they would lose. They just hoped to scare the people into believing them, but that ship had sailed.

They're so wrapped up in themselves that they forgot about the Independents. The micro-targeting can only be successful for so long. There comes a point when the only message you have is, "Democrats/Liberals are Evil Baby-Murdering Traitors!" is seen for what it is...pure hate.

in the inner circle anymore. It seems he is only told what he wants to hear, while the real planning goes on with him out of earshot. He was genuinely surprised because no doubt all his sycophantic ass kissers were assuring him along along that the wins were in the bag.

32. Hell fucking NO..
That's their latest talking points. Anything to get them through the night. They're waiting for us to fuck up. They want us to fuck up. They have outright said that they're waiting for us to fuck up. Which implies that they want things in Iraq to become worse than they already are. That more of our children should die just to prove that they were right.

Why did fuckface make rummy fall on the sword? Because he's terra-fied about the hearings the new Democratic Congress will hold. Imagining rummy testifying before a Democratic Congress has got to be enough to have the chimp shitting bricks.

So even though we're not in charge yet, the very thought of a Congress with claws and teeth is enough to give junior the cold sweats. And that's why rummy is gone. Even though we're not in charge yet, things have started to get better.

They're waiting for us to fuck up. Boy, if you think they're crying now, just wait till we take charge of the House and Senate.

40. No, the RW did not let the Dems win.
And, I do think is was by a lot bigger margin than their "official" result. Too many eyes watching this time, too big of a margin, and they did not want to risk past elections coming into question. The RW figured to save it for another day, let the Dems clean up the RW mess while they bitch, piss, and moan about the mess and blame Dems for it, and to only keep it to a close margin so that they could argue that it was not a mandate to move to the left. So we must stay right of the center, instead of reversing what they have done.
