Word of warning though, a friendly one: Newbies often get their asses handed to them if they get a little too opinionated too soon. Be careful, DU can be a jungle sometimes. But we've all been through it, so hang in there.

5. Hello all

Hi guys,

I am a DU newbie. I am not a "Democrat", due to the fact that I am not American, but if I were, I would vote democrat. I am British, currently living in Switzerland, (but I have also lived in Sweden, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany). My brother lives in Chicago though. He is now an American citizen, and as such has voting rights, but he is also a gun toting NRA nutter, and as such leans more towards the gun toting NRA nutter republican party. I realise that there are lots of gun toting NRA nutter democrats, but the freeps beat you on this point!! (Personally, I would favour a gun free society, such as exists in the UK).

Anyway, I personally hope for a Hillary 2008 victory, though any progressive victor in 2008 will be a good thing IMHO. Congratulations on the landslide, and I hope for more of the same in 2008.
