heart attack or not, Uncle Dick will bow out before Christmas. Poppy will pick the replacement VP, and I'm guessing it will be the surprise return of Colin Powell. This leaves Poppy covered in case the investigations start, in which case he will tell his idiot son to resign. Leaving Colin Powell, an allegedly moderate Black President as an incumbent for 2008, while also preventing any embarrassing dirt on Poppy himself being dug up in the process.

Gotta say it's actually a brilliant plan, though I don't like the outcome.
