Something To Ponder Re: Impeachment |
|
The Republicans were successful in impeaching Clinton because the Republicans are a much more ideologically cohesive party;except for a few mavericks they are all wingnuts. That's why only four Republicans opposed impeachment in the House.
The Democrats are a much more diverse party. I believe there are forty or so Blue Dog, read moderate to conservative Democrats who represent nominally Republican districts. I do not think impeachment is at the top of their legislative priorities.
I believe folks like John Conyers and Nancy Peolosi will eschew impeachment to avoid a intra party war that will only help the GOPU.
I guess we will know when Bu$h leaves office on January 20, 2009 as one of the worst presidents in the history of the republic.

1. I would hope that the Investigations and Hearings |
|
would be more important right now. Exposing the evidence for the AMERICAN PEOPLE to see for themselves. If what I am thinking is right. It won't have to be the Dems calling for impeachment or resignation. It will be the AMERICAN PUBLIC that will be calling for it.
This way, could absolutely neuter the GOP. And save the constitution.
Its not the impeachment that is important. It is the investigations. The results and evidence brought forth from them...The rest will follow due course.
At least that is what I am hoping, they plan on doing. I would agree with Pelosi on this, if that is the case.

2. More effective to allow Conyers |
|
to hang out all their dirty laundry. We'd not likely get impeachment but we can shame them for the rest of the countries history.
