Gaming it out?
I've been thinking about the very public concilliatory tone that Bush has been taking for the past two days and I think it's totally out of character for him.

We're now seeing pictures of a "chastened" George W. Bush and hearing promises that he will work with the Democratic majority in both the house and senate....

It's completely out of character for this man. He doesn't ever admit defeat. He doesn't ever stop trying to get "his own way" even when he's been caught and punished. He keeps right on with his agenda.

Proof?

What about the fact that he renominated Bolton for UN Ambassador again today? A "chastened" Bush would as for the "advice and consent" of the Senate and maybe even consult with the leadership about who would be acceptable to them....but nooooooooooooo....... Dubya goes right back in your face and looks for another confrontation.

and.......

in doing so, I think he has tipped his hand...here's what I think he's up to...

I think the Repubs knew weeks (and maybe even a month) ago that this election was going to cost them at least the house and maybe the senate too. They also realized that even with voter suppression, sleazy ads and the nastiest campaign they could muster they would still lose control..so so switch to plan "b"

Talk about bipartsinship but push the Democrats to the limit...force them to confront you...and when they do, tell America that they are behaving EXACTLY LIKE YOU SAID THEY WOULD....accuse them of rampant partisanship and, if you can, goad John Conyers into articles of impeachment (which will never fly in the Senate even if they get them out of the House...) Make the next two years times of gridlock and nasty, nasty, nasty partisan bickering and, in 2008....run your candidate as the peacemaker and your party as the (ready for this? return of the good old days...

I hope to hell I'm wrong but defeat and crawling off to lick wounds is simply not in Dubya's nature. He'll go down fighting (like Davey Crockett at the Alamo...which he f-ing a thinks he really is...)

1. He's been made irrelevant. All that campaigning he did and
most of those people lost their races. I believe the Dem. Congress and Senate will make a difference. I am optimistic. The sun is shining.

As for Jr., he will be the lamest of lame ducks.

2. Here's the beauty of the Bolton "misstep"...
Chaffee(R) refuses to change his vote. He won't put him through. So...looks like the first person that bucks Little Lord Pissypants will be from his own party.

Don't forget---he has pledged to work with the Dems before. I think he's INCAPABLE of telling the truth.
