Dems to Corporate Media
"You want to dance? Let's Dance."

For the last several years we've had to sit back and listen to your subtle digs, your carefully-chosen terminology seemingly dedicated to chipping away at us so cleverly. But no more. You know why? Because we don't have to.

Your credibility isn't all that much higher than that of the Republican Congress, and you know it. You're not supposed to be in the business of creating spin--you're supposed to be reporting the news. The vast majority of your headliners aren't reporters at all anymore. You're wizards of double-speak. Spin doctors in the employ of a few powerful media conglomerates. Professional liars. A couple of COMEDY shows have more credibility than you do. That should embarass you. It should make you ashamed of what you've become.

You play softball with the Republicans and hardball with us? Well, we can play hardball right back. You don't get to lie to the public with impunity any more. We can always go around you. We have the internet to get our messages out to the public. We can go talk to John Steward and Stephen Colbert. And if that isn't a sad commentary, I don't know what is.

If you won't play nice, we don't see any reason we should either.

You have a choice. Either shape up or become irrelevent. It's your choice.

****

I know, I know. It's a fantasy, okay? But it sounds SO good.

;)
