Will everyone cool it over impeachment, we have time
We won the House around 48 hours ago, we won the Senate officially less than 12 hours ago. We have two months before either starts the new session. We don't have to decide every last thing we want this Congress to do by the end of the week. Just take a deep breath :)

1. Exactly. Sheesh.
Let's have some oversight first and see where that takes us.

4. Over-sight is more important than Impeachment.
The courts are still busy with some K Street Criminal Indictments. None of that is going away.

2. We have many things more than Impeachment that need attention too.

The criminal Indictments will make a record of what should be Investigated, when possible.

I think we should be talking about Deal Making on the issues. It's time to recognize how practical and rational Parental Notification for Pregnant Minors, except for those requiring their legal Majority to emancipate themselves from Dysfunctional Parents. If people are having Babies, Free Day Care and appropriate reproductive grade-level K-12 curriculum and Health Care in Public Schools.

That's more Needed than Impeachment.

3. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Now is when we need to put the pressure on Dem reps, new and old, to launch immediate, thorough, wide-ranging, fully-empowered investigations into all corners of this admin.

Now is when they're planning the agenda for '07-08, and if they don't hear from us, they sure as hell won't take the initiative to defy the media and their consultants and put their reelection chances on the line.

We need to let 'em hear it loud and clear and make sure they don't forget it!

9. They need to know what we want.
If we leave it to Congress, they'll appoint a couple of anemic bipartisan whitewash committees to "look into" iregularities here and there just so they can say they did something useful come next election.

We need to make it crystal clear to them that we will not settle for another bullshit DNC election report.

12. We must study how this Private War on our Tax Dollar got Started by PNAC.
We should understand HOW this happened, so we can prevent it from ever happening again.

And what about the Veterans?

8. I so agree! Many people from many different areas of life have been
hurt by this admin, from 9/11 victims to unemployed workers to torture victims to legal immigrants who have been abused and even deported (I know, my husband was one of them) to students who couldn't get funding to Katrina victims. All Americans have been duped and cheated. It is never too early to make JUSTICE, ACCOUNTABILITY and the RULE OF LAW a priority.

6. fine...as long as the War Crimes charges and Crimes against Humanity charges
are the first order of business, as it should be.

I, for one, am sick of living under barbarian rule for the last six years, and would like to show the world that we understand what needs to happen before the healing can begin, before we can begin to restore our international standing in the world, which has been trashed, much like our Constitution, much like Habeas Corpus and Posse Comitatus, much like New Orleans.

I, for one, am sick of being called 'unpatriotic' because I didn't, and don't, support the illegal invasion of sovereign nations.

I, for one, am sick of having my phone calls and emails monitored by the government, am sick of having my Constitutional Rights stomped on by a bunch of wanna-be warriors.

And I am sick to death of watching the democratic 'opposition' roll over time and time again. Now that the dems have the majority, it'd be really cool if they'd do something worthwhile, rather than simply maintaining the status quo, which is what 'common ground' is all about.

Just my two cents.

Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 07:37 PM by spag68
and I think they are, they will do plenty of issues oriented work, while going forward with investigations. The impeachment of bushco will follow. Think of it this way, if it's done right many of the thugs will go to jail. Now isn't that a happy thought?????
