If we want true progress, we have to tackle media consolodation asap. |
|
When Bush took office, his strategists understood the critical importance of weakening the FCC's loose grip on controling the over-consolodation of media. The Repukes rammed thru changes in the face of what was then bi-partisan outcry and millions of citizens signing petitions and calling pols. Clear Channel came in, took over and stifled opposing views. (Just cut back another Liberal show today.) This is how they control the message--you can hear them singing the same song on every station every day.
Something needs to be done about this so that we are able to address all the other issues. Scale back consolodation so that we can get traction on the issues. Leave it the way it is, and we will have a hard time getting our messages heard above the whining RW assholes who are dominating the airwaves in the aftermath of a huge Dem victory. It's our party, but they still have the microphone.

to congress would be in order. or maybe we could ask howard to get the congress to fix this.
i think we need a list of issues to work on . . . especially since dubya is going into overtime to ram bills through before january 1. the filibuster will be in order right about now. you know the repugs won't go nukular on it because they're gonna need it for the next 2 years.
