1. That they're perhaps waiting for verifiable evidence to do so?
Plus, it's more practical to have Dumbass and Deadeye Dick as meat shields than kicked out.

9. I'm all for impeachment, but I care more about Iraq.
I care more about the economy.
I care more about children left behind.
I care more about predators preying on pages.

We have neutered Bush. We have two years to impeach him, but impeachment proceedings take the entire Congress to do. We will never convict Bush. We only have 51. Impeachment is an appropriate and a strong message, but it is not as important as addressing the aftermath of Hurricane Arbusto.

10. Impeaching Bush would be possible, I doubt a conviction. It would detract...
from much needed corrective legislation

8. I'm not sure it is a good strategy
for Dems to try to "heal" the country without facing the fact that some very serious trangressions must be addressed.

If the Dems don't do it, I think they'll lose support. Because it sends the message that protection of the constitution and the basic rights of the people don't really matter. Not good strategy.

12. We simply must address the high crimes and misdemeanors of
this administration, from their lying to get us into an illegal war, to their illegal spying on the American public to their shreading of the Constitutional rights of habeus corpus and the rest of the Bill of Rights. This is far more serious than Watergate. The actions of Bushco represent a major threat to the Constitution and the American stance for freedom and justice. To ignore these crimes against democracy and the covenant between the people and their government cannot be allowed to stand. If we do not strongly repudiate these criminals, they will haunt us for generations like the Iran/Contra squad.

13. It means that Dems agree that infidelity is worse than mass murder.
Not Dems in general, just the elite. Cowards, collaborators, co-conspirators, whatever. It means our elected representatives are representing their money men, not the voters.

14. Impeach, eventually. But thats not where our priorities should be now!
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 02:28 AM by RiverStone
Yea, I wanna nail the BushCo's sleaze to the wall of impeachment; but not right away. Finally, WE are in power. WE that want to end this horrible, wasteful, fucked up war. Lets put the lives of our soldiers and the lives of all the innocent Iraq's that may die AHEAD of all the energy it would take to bag Bush. His time will come. Far too many lives to save first eh?

FAR more important is to focus all our NEW power on ending the war. Not to forget Darfur too.

Might as well throw in raising the minimum wage, lowing health care costs.

We achieve these things, then impeach the s.o.b.!!!
