I'm a Republican Because...
No I am not a repukelican. I just found this rather interesting. It doesn't sound much like the repukelican party that lost power on Tuesday, does it?

Republican Principles

I'm a Republican Because...

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

I'm a Republican Because...

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored. As long as they are god-fearing Christians and not one of those "ethnic" types.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability. Oops... forgot sexual orientation... no I didn't....yes, I did. I really didn't.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity. For a few. RIP, Ken Lay.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn. Who cares if they earn less? More for me!

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least. We'll start by neglecting congressional oversight and encourage our president to take *even more* time off during national disasters.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people. And what could be closer than having Republicans in your bedroom?

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times. Like that coal stuff... those were the days...

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world. We will kill anyone who stands in our way.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government. Cool!!!!! When will they start????

Real Republican Principles

I'm REALLY a Republican Because...

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored... Only if you're rich, powerful and send lot's of cash to the RNC.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability... If saying that will get us a lot of sucker votes.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity... That is everyone who isn't affected by sending as many jobs offshore as possible.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn... That's because the more money the rich and powerful get to keep, the more they send to us.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least... That's what no-bid government contracts to all of favorite cronies are for.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.... That's why we're trying to get into all of your bedrooms.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.... Which means that's whatever good for Rich, White guys is good for America.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.... Because we've found that kicking poor, brown ass around the world distracts all of you suckers from some of the underhanded crap that we're really up to.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.... Because we're in it for the money

9. Oddly enough, I'm a Democrat for many of the same reasons.

- the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility
Right on the money! That's why I want the Patriot Act gutted and replaced with something that conforms to the Bill of Rights.

- equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability
Amen, brother! Our only difference is that when these equal opportunities are abridged or denied, I want something done about it.

- free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
Absolutely. Those who use the power of government to reward their corporate masters must be run out ona rail! The soul of the American economy is the small business owner, who's been getting screwed by the government, the HMOs, the anti-competitive practices of large corporations, and the stockjobbers who pressure businesses to ship jobs (and thus our consumer power) overseas.

- government must practice fiscal responsibility
No comment needed

- the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.
Another good argument against No Child Left Behind and a raft of unfunded federal mandates

- Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
Exactamundo, princess!! Don't just stay the course, fix the problems.

- Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
Thumbs up again. Everything we do around the world must be measured by how much stability it brings, whether it uphold our highest values, and whether it sets an example to other nations of the way we believe nations should live in peace and harmony.
We should go after those who have harmed us, which Bush hasn't, constrain those who might threaten us, which Bush didn't, and inspire those who are still undecided that we work on the side of the angels, which Bush is completely unable to do.

12. If the GOP actually lived by this list, to the letter...
I'd never not vote for the GOP!

Alas, it is precisely because the GOP fails (often totally) to live up to the ideals on this list, that people like me hope voting for Dems can bring change.

I don't think this list is inherently lib or con.

I think this list is a list many on both sides can embrace as AMERICAN ideals.
