Another impeachment viewpoint |
|
Maybe we might wonder why the Dem leadership is leaning away from impeachment. I think they would rather be in a position of not being the 'instigator' of these proceedings. In the course of time, there may be what qualifies as 'high crimes' exposed in the normal process of investigating, and if the public perceives them as a serious crime, they will send congress a message to proceed. In the meantime, it would be good to open up all the info on trade deals and other 'traitorous' actions committed by this administration. That will lead us into the 2008 campaign, and still be fresh in the minds of the public. That's the signal I'm receiving, and seems a good plan.

I suspect impeachment will be voted on - but only as a reluctant response to the crimes exposed by the oversight hearings.

2. If the Democratic legislature does not have someone to point to |

who is forced out of office or is in jail, then they will be blamed in the 2008 elections for the mess that was left behind. For their own political careers, they must take action or they will be voted out of control. Remember the number one issue in the exit polls was corruption.
