Some out-of-work GOP staffers may face unemployment

RAW STORY
Published: Thursday November 9, 2006

With hundreds of Republican aides set to lose their jobs as Democrats take over Congress, K Street veterans tell Roll Call that some may have to file for unemployment benefits.

"The hundreds of Republican staffers — not to mention more than a few Members — who will lose their jobs in the next few weeks are going to face a hostile marketplace on K Street as unemployed Republicans flood the market," Kate Ackley writes for Roll Call.

"While GOP aides are flooding the town with their résumés, it’s now plugged-in Democratic aides whom companies and firms really have an eye for," the article continues.

2. Yes. Please, go over there and spin, spin to the Iraqi people
how this war has made their nation a better place. You'll be staying at the luxurious white elephant of Baghdad, the new US Embassy, larger than the Vatican. You'll be able to play with the Iraqi people's hearts and minds, 100's of which are brought in by the truckload as they lose their lives and succumb to the Civil War occurring over there. But, hey we're collecting hearts and minds at a new alarming rate !

4. Unemployment Insurance Counseling Available
Any Republican aides who need counseling regarding how to live on unemployment should hook up with folks whose jobs were sent overseas.

The Delay/Abramoff agency, that counsels soon to be unemployed DC Republicans, will help find jobs for a small bribe (oops, sorry, I mean fee) and/or free golf outings to Scotland, Box seats to sporting events and expensive dinners.

Methamphetamine and Male prostitute massages are suitable barter for services rendered in some states.

9. Oh No! That's Just Fine
Remember they always say they could be making WAY more money in the private sector. This, of course, coming from a crowd, of whom 90% have never worked in the private sector.

But, i guess republicans are experts at everything. Even stuff they know nothing about and things they've never experienced.

7. most of these staffers are relatively young... right?
I say let's send their names to some local military recruitment offices... I understand that they are looking for a few dedicated people to serve our country. Given that these folks were often the cheerleaders to Bushco whenever * or Cheney or Condi was makin a fine speech on why we needed to fight... well I just thinking that they should volunteer to serve for real and let some of our fine fighting men and women come back to their families.

11. John Sweeney's staffers should go to Saipan
And work in the sweatshops there. After all, there are worse working conditions in NYC according to the Rep. Kickass. I'll chip in to pay their boat fare.

12. We will have to watch them closely
and take pointers from them on how to live without health care, fight to be able to vote when their address is a box down the street, put food on their family, deal with the new bankruptcy rules ... ah yes, we will learn so much.
