10. I hate to rain on the parade,
but impeachment does not mean conviction. If all 51 Democratic senators voted for conviction, and they very well might not, 16 Republican senators would be needed for conviction. How many DAs would be anxious to put a person on trial whom they know upfront that the person will not be convicted? Democrats such as Nancy Pelosi may want impeachment, but are no more anxious to go through what is an indictment, knowing there will be no conviction. Rather than putting impeachment as the centerpiece of the Democrats rise to power, because I am guessing that there were no Democrats running for election on an impeachment platform if they wanted to be elected, I think Pelosi hopes that this would be the natural outcome of hearings and investigations. That way, she did not put impeachment on the table, impeachment put itself on the table.

5. And when the Democrats in the House and Senate don't jump right on it
because they are strategizing and working on other priorities for the American people, what will happen? If people don't agree because President Cheney actually sounds more terrifying that President Bush, then what? Are we all going to stand in a circle and shoot ourselves? Between the impeach-don't impeach and the they're all moderates-no they're not and the now I'm voting Green-are you serious threads, we're forming a circle and shooting ourselves quicker than usual this time. The left needs to be seen as a whole group, all working together, compromising on certain aspects of some issues. Really, the support of the American people is only our to lose.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'm not sure it should be the first thing out of the gate. Perhaps Health Care, ending the war and equality for our GLBT brothers and sisters should be before what might be seen by the moderates in this country and by those who don't pay attention as blood-thirsty and mean-spirited. Let's prove that we wanted control to help the American people, not so we could go straight for the jugular.

8. I understand your position. I am on the fence about it personally.
My main concern is about the voting machines. I think that should be priority #1 - make sure our votes are being counted fairly. These machines are not secure.

13. Impeachment should not be driven by activists--
--who are paying attention. It should be driven by the much larger majority of people who mostly don't pay attention. Let's do the oversight investigations first. If this results in a groundswell movement from the general population demanding impeachment, then we go for it. Otherwise, just carry on with investigating, and use the legal system for accountability after they leave office. I mean really--don't we all know in advance that the Senate is not going to convict?

16. What are politicians if not activists?
They are the ones who should be driving this process.

They have their "mandate".

They should "intend to spend it", to paraphrase somebody.

17. They should spend it by getting as much dirty laundry out there--
--in two years as they possibly can. We can still jail them after they leave office.

20. We have won a battle but not the war
Sun Tzu said: Whoever is first in the field and awaits the coming of the enemy, will be fresh for the fight; whoever is second in the field and has to hasten to battle will arrive exhausted.
We are first in the field lets give it to these bastards.

25. + They are recruiting Citizen Lobbyists in EVERY Congressional district
. . .The mobilization is called ImpeachForChange. Our goals include:

. . .
2. Form Impeachment Committees in all 435 Congressional Districts to lobby every Member of Congress by:
delivering books & videos on impeachment
collecting petitions and handwritten letters in front of their District Offices
meeting with every Member to discuss the issues that require impeachment

We don't need a movement -- we just need to MOVE!!!

There is a reason for all those lobbyists in DC -- It Takes Face-to-Face dialog to inject reality and directly challenge their rationalizations for inaction.
