Did you hear that our new leaders are going to make conferences open to the press?
conference committee's, how cool is that? I heard that yesterday on the news, can't remember what channel though.

3. It's a smart way to let the public see
that the Dems are going to be smacking down Repub corruption. The republicans aren't going to be able to be so blatant in supporting their corporate masters with cameras there.

18. Maybe "glastnost and perestroika" will last longer here than they
did in Russia. ("Openness" and "restructuring")

I wouldn't rely on "professional" reporters for this--I'd like to see many of the top bloggers (Skinner, Wonkette, Kos, etc) get credentialed to sit in on such meetings, and to raise bloody hell if anyone tries to exclude them.
