So Far I Like What I Hear from Tester-MT and Webb-VA....
Tester handled tweety pretty well last night. He reminds me of a straight shooter on facing problems headon. His demeanor makes it very difficult for someone like tweety to get under his skin.

And I like the fact that it is reported that Webb said he is interested in 'social justice.' You don't hear that very often any more, though it is needed now more than ever.

Keep up the good work guys, and we will keep watching....

1. I love this pic of Tester:

An RWer I know said: "You know, all they had to do was post that photo and *I'd* vote for him."

3. yeah, he's got a conservative look.....
....but he's a true progressive. an organic farmer too. from what i know of him, he's the real thing.

one of my best friends has been working on his campaign for the last 6 months as a coordinator. i called my friend up after it was clear that tester won to congratulate him and thank him for the hard work he did getting tester elected. i said to him that he might have single handedly helped put tester over the top (this guy was obsessed with getting tester in there, he barely slept for 6 months) and with our wafer thin lead in the senate, he may have been the most important person in helping save the world from bushco. he liked that idea.

2. Second time posting this today - Webb is populist at heart of his politics
Webb's economic platform "borrows from the "two Americas" theme" of former Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards and is a strident critic of free trade policies while using populist rhetoric about jobs and the economy in his stump speeches. Webb opposes gun control, supports abortion, and supports civil unions for gay couples.

4. i'm so glad he stomped on macacawitz!
i think the margin of difference was bigger too....i smelled a rat in virginia. i think the reason macacawitz passed on a recount was that he was afraid some shenanigans might be exposed.

5. I am from Virginia and I know
Really glad we got him out of there. That stupid marriage gay-hate amendment pissed me off though.

But at least we got a good solid populist Senator.

8. On Hartmann. One Precinct Webb-85 Votes Macaca-600 Votes Per Diebold
Yet the gay marriage thing was 50/50.

Guess Macaca got the pro-gay marriage pro-racist vote.

If the Dems do not address the voting machines, it will be a 2 year majority.

10. That is certainly how it appears...
plus, there is an FBI investigation into voter suppression which could get rather ugly for the GOP I would think now that the Democrats are back in charge.

7. I wish we had Tester or Webb as our Senator
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 01:27 PM by TornadoTN
Smart, intelligent and down to earth. Believes in what they say and don't come across as a professional politicians.

If we had Tester or Webb in Tennessee as a candidate, he would have won hands down - no contest. Goes to show that you can win in states where you are written off if you just believe in your ideals and present them to the people honestly and directly.

6. I think Webb and Tester will be very valuable to our party.
From the NPR interview this morning with Webb, to Tester last night on Hardball, I'm VERY happy to be in the same party as these two!

9. They will definitely break the mold...
nobody will ever be able to paint either one of them as "liberal elitists". I'm so happy to have Jim Webb as my Senator, and I congratulate the good people of Montana. We've elected two good men I do believe!!!
