Lawrence Eagleburger has filled Gates' seat in the Iraq Study Group
Just announced on MSNBC.

Eagleburger was Secretary of State under George Bush Senior. Poppy is sure back in charge.

Do you suppose he even puts Georgie in his room for time outs, too?

2. maybe the real question is, was poppie ever out of the loop?
Could this iraqnam and iranian policy come from daddy Bush in cooperation with Cheney and the PNACs?

4. I wouldn't think so.
I think Junior dismissed any advice Poppy had to give.

I do think Poppy is cleaning up the mess now.

Sounds spot on to me
Maybe they had some parting of the ways. But now that the Party got the boot, Poppy has to step in with his boys for the big finesse. Not that Poppy didn't make his own mistakes and lose the chance at a second term. I hope Biden doesn't bend over for them.

Nice to let it finally sink in that they aren't as smart or powerful as I believed. I thought for sure that they had a major shot at their dream of a one party government for the rest of my lifetime. Now, I have more faith in us, the people. This morning I heard that this election, more young people voted than ever - by percentages compared to the past. This is such a good thing.

33. if he has been profiting the past 6 years
he's in the loop (policy affects profits)

any comment from Jr. not wanting Poppy's advice, imo, is a mere deflection from the truth and I think they're thick as thieves (literally)

8. Lawrence Eagleburger: Halliburton board, Kissinger Associates.
Lawrence Sidney Eagleburger (1930-) was born in Milwaukee. Described as a career diplomat, Eagleburger joined the Foreign Service in 1957 and held a series of embassy, State Department, national security, and Defense Department posts before serving as Ambassador (1977-81) to Yugoslavia. He was a State Department Assistant Secretary (1981-82) and Undersecretary (1982-84) before serving as Deputy Secretary of State (1989-92) and Secretary of State (1992-93) under President George Herbert Walker Bush, becoming the first Foreign Service officer to hold the latter post.

Eagleburger serves as President of Kissinger Associates, Inc. and currently Senior Foreign Policy Advisor with Baker, Donelson, Bearman & Caldwell (a Washington D.C. law firm). As a member of the board of directors of the Halliburton Company, he is a member of the Audit, the Compensation and the Management Oversight and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees.

I also posted something in the Activist forum pointing directly to your posting above on Eagleberger's background.

DT, this gives me the chills. But I'm glad it at least comes when we have the majority and I feel a renewed sense of strength. Pushing the rock up the hill is easier then fleeing down the hill with that rock gaining on my heels.

22. Yep. He's one of the Godfathers in the Global Crime cabal.
While I have little comfort using such terminology, I can find none other to aptly portray the entrenched corruption of these people. It's like all the non-Italian organized crime from the Batista days moved into goveernment.

9. This is pathetic! Poppy sent
Jr. off to summer camp six years ago to make him a real man. All it did was make him a real ass. Now parental control has to take over. I didn't like Poppy and I certainly do not like any of his sons. Poppy is trying to have a do-over. If the Democrats don't put the brakes on and say NO they aren't worth what they are cracked up to be. I have had enough of imperial rule and I do not want any more.

They'll never propose anything to get the troops out of their job of protecting Halliburton and "The Poppy Group" interests.

Those old men have no shame when it comes to their greed and lust for power. The "New World Order" is now the only thing from the past we haven't heard articulated. Yet.

They can't seem to get enough power. And for what? A fancier nursing home? And their next generation appears worthless - in the case of the Bushes at least. Immortal they ain't. Their brand of greed is more like a disease.

30. K&R
Unbelievable.
Do you suppose one of their jobs is to cover all of the tracks permanently?
Didn't Junior classify a while slew of unclassified documents at the beginning of his first term?
Do you suppose this is the exact way it was supposed to go down--but the timing is wrong and Junior didn't get his entire mission accomplished so now the process has to be expedited?
Do you suppose this is why the punditry (Operation Mockingbird) are so intent on spreading the message of No Impeachment?
Are they buying time so they can get finished?

Lawrence Eagleburger and the rest of the Iraq Study Group are all old BFEE hands-it's still the BFEE.

From The Congressional Record, thanks to the late Henry Gonzales, a BFEE indictment from 1992 that STILL APPLIES TODAY!
