Henry Waxman to head House Gov't Reform Committee
Henry Waxman (D-Los Angeles) is set to head the House Government Reform Committee. This means he will be in charge of investigating waste, fraud, and profiteering - to make sure "government is doing the job it is supposed to do."

He will have subpoena power.

Waxman, if you all recall, was the Congressman who faced down the tobacco execs, who testified that "nicotine was not addictive."

I cannot wait until he lets loose with the subpoenas.

This is the way to start getting the bastards in the Bush regime - subpoenas, hearings and investigations. I cannot wait.

Waxman is one the very best liberal Democrats we've got! He has surely been champing at the bit for a long time now.

Ike Skelton will head the Armed Services Committee.

John Conyers will head the Judiciary Committee.

Bart Stupak - keep an eye on this name. He will head the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on oversight.

2007 is going to be very exciting.

5. What is going to be funny is when he starts on the oil companies.
The ones that Bush was buying oil for the government oil reserve from, while prices were at a peak. It will IMHO, lead right to exposing All the gouging that has gone on.

6. It's like Teapot Dome II
But even slicker.

Halliburton has slimy activities of which we only know the faintest details . Waxman will need to stay awake 24 hours around the clock to issue all those subpoenas in just the first few weeks alone.
