The DLC made Bill CLinton our candidate in 1992 and they got him re-elected, but by the time they were done people couldn't see any difference between Republicans and Democrats. Why do you think Newt Gingrich was able to take over Congress? Why do you think George came so close to beating both Al Gore and John Kerry? I think John Dean won the House and Senate because he got candidates out there and because his candidates stood for something. Now he's under attack by Carville who may be a stalking horse for Hillary. I just don't see us taking the White House in 2008 with someone who doesn't stand for something, and I don't see the point in taking the White House in 2008 unless we have a candidate who stands for something besides an ability to raise a finger to see which way the wind is blowing!

2. That may be, but am I to interpret your comment as support for the DLC
as opposed to Dr. Dean's 50 state strategy?

5. I'm missing your point there.
I've been pissed off at Bill Clinton ever since he caved on Gay rights (Don't ask, don't tell,WTF!) and failed to push any kind of effective reform in the Health Insurance system after he got his fingers burnt.

7. But how many people couldn't see any real harm in George Bush simply
because Bill was such a wimp? People didn't see any real difference on the domestic front and no real dangers loomed on the international front. Remember, we all knew George was a jerk, but we had no idea he was ready to attack the Constitution. We all regretted it when Al Gore didn't get in, but until the phony war after 9/11 we had no idea how bad it could get. I know the election was stolen, but if Al Gore had had a few more points here and there, it wouldn't have happened.

8. You can't do anything if you lose
And I will never understand this "Cult of Howard Dean" thing.

Though apparently, John Dean won the House and Senate. G. Gordon Liddy must be pised.
