"governing from the center" is code for "surrender to the GOP".

If we do that it's just the same as saying our victory didn't count, which is what the GOP/FOX/DLC combine is trying to do with their "Conservative Democrats" meme.

They undermined Clinton with this in '92. We camn't let it happen again.

2. Work with the Republicans!

Actually the Democratic leadership will be better off if they work with the Republian minority. We need to show Republican and independent voters how much better our leadership is than the Gingrich-Hastert-Lott-Frist R leadership was.

BTW, Democrats running in congressional races on Tuesday received 56% of the popular vote. In the R "landslide" of 1994, the R's received only 51.3%. That shows how much greater the Democratic Party mandate is than theirs.

3. Wrong...

They spent the past 6 years passing every possible damaging bill they could and it will take a whole lot of one sided majority rules attitude to push through correction bills. From energy policy to the medicare bill to the attack on our civil rights and the misdirected funding for Iraq and Katrina (not that they were funded, WHERE they sent the money to)...

This is going to take a ton of work and working with Republicans who agreed that taking down America to profit themselves is going to be an impossibility.
