1. 87% of 322,728 responses say yes
Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment? * 322728 responses

Yes, between the secret spying, the deceptions leading to war and more, there is plenty to justify putting him on trial.
87%

No, like any president, he has made a few missteps, but nothing approaching "high crimes and misdemeanors."
4.4%

No, the man has done absolutely nothing wrong. Impeachment would just be a political lynching.

6. I'd like to see impeachment, but
some one should do a real poll. On line polls are worthless, we, of all people should know that!

10. With almost 325,000 respondents, it's not a bad indicator...
...but, I agree - a real poll would be nice to truly gauge the mood of the populace.

13. Some would say we DOers skewed the poll to make
a statement, and the freepers skewed it to bait us. I, personally would take that bait!!
But, yes , I would like to see a good poll.

16. Regardless, it only matters in the US House of Reps...
...and they have some work to do before drafting up articles of impeachment (like making the case for impeachment, which should be pretty easy;)). Mark my words, impeachment AND conviction WILL happen, because the new congress will have no choice BUT to impeach - it's the rule of law, and they are constitutionally bound to do so.

23. Do a google search.
There have been a few polls.
They are around 50% for impeachment (or against, i suppose).
And the investigations have not even begun.

11.  We do know that - or at least I do...
They are still fun! And, they have an effect on the public's perception -- if someone who is just stopping by MSNBC sees that poll they will think that *everyone* wants him impeached, so there must be a good reason. Human beings are herd animals -- we lazily change our attitudes to fit what we think everyone else believes. So, if it sways a few minds, then good.

14. We get rid of Cheney first or simultaneously... Actually, what I am thinking
now is that Cheney may step down for health reasons sometime in the next few months so that Bush can appoint a no-name "moderate" Republican to the position. Why? If Bush is impeached, Cheney will go with him and Pelosi will become President. To keep that from happening, Cheney could step down and a Republican innocent of wrong-doing could be appointed VP so that that person would ascend to the Presidency instead of Pelosi.

What do you think?

18. Amendment 25
Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

That would be dangerous, I think. That no name moderate GOP person very likely could be the next prez if he is moderate.

21. Could be dangerous for Democrats not to.
I understand that these polls aren't scientific, but, assuming this isn't freeped, that's a lot of people weighing in. Very few online polls get these kinds of lopsided results. I do agree that a national poll with proper sampling methodologies should be undertaken to see what the real mood is on this question. I'd state the question twofold:

(1) Do you support investigations of the current administration?

(2) If the results of the investigations indicate crimes were committed, would you support impeachment?

I'll risk Cheney stepping down and a caretaker Republican being installed...if these investigations show that impeachable crimes have been committed, I sincerely doubt the American people will reward this Party/Syndicate for their criminal actions.

26. good analysis
What's bothersome is if Bush put in a likeable youngish type (can't think of anyone off the top of my head) and then he became very popular. What if he put in Arnie S? Look at that way that jerk has won CA twice. I don't get it that anyone would vote for him but they sure did in CA

27. I think the Arnie has to be a dark horse for 2008.
Hey, it worked once for the Republicans....but they'll lose some of the Religious Right, I think. Honestly, who can run for the nomination and not cleaver the Republican base in 2008? They got no rising stars...they all just got beat this cycle.

20. Wow an online poll that been flogged by every single left blog/community
It does remind me of the time FreeRepublic freeped a poll during the impeachment and I do undertsand the argument that sometimes perception becomes reality even if said perception is false but knowing the reality makes me disregard this poll.
