28. Polls show support for Dems higher, even in light of talks of filibuster

Recent polls indicate (it's on DU somewhere, dammit) that Americans are strongly favoring voting for Dems ahead of Repubs, and this is despite talk of filibuster. The filibuster idea isn't hurting us ... it's helping us!

Get that message out to the cowardly Dems. They may be more likely to lose their seats when America finds out how bad Alito is.

edit: Popsicle on a jumping stick, jeebers, I just now called his office and a staffer gave me a perfunctory poll question, yes or no on filibuster and abstention, and quickly brushed me off. Would not let me get in 2 cents about Dems being in a position of strength now. He wasn't rude, he was, ugh, brusque.

I've got to get this frown off my face somehow. At least the calls are pouring in.

32. Just got off the phone with the FM office...said Nelson hasn't yet decided

on the filibuster but that they are still taking a tally. Very polite and nice staffer, BTW.

I said its unacceptable to replace the moderate O'Connor with a RW idealogue and the staffer said Nelson will vote no on his confirmation. I reminded her that a no vote without supporting the filibuster is meaningless. She said she's pass along my comments.
