The "no. of views" function and the environment/energy forum
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 05:28 PM by nam78_two
I don' know if this was newly introduced function or if I just hadn't noticed it before...
But I noticed it today and of most of the big forums on here, the topics in the Environment/Energy forums have startlingly low numbers of views compared to most forums

Even this election year, despite all the talk of climate change and Hurricane Katrina etc. that was an issue that was virtually ignored. In 2004, exactly *one* question in the debates addressed the environment and that was asked by a participant in the townhall debate. I have no idea where it figures in the overall Dem. agenda. They will be better than the Bushies of course, way way better, but will they push the edge and take environmental issues as seriously as they should be taken? I hope so!

And this is what America's ecological footprint looks like:

We are hardly a country that can afford to ignore pressing environmental issues.

I weep for future generations if we continue to ignore the environment :(. Its an issue thats so rarely even included in the laundry list of important things. Even my progressive friends forget to mention it when talking about the ravages of the past 6 years and so on

We need to leave a living planet for future generations. That is one of the most important challenges facing us.
