LOL, freeper people go nuts at McCain announcment, would vote for Hillary against him
To: West Coast Conservative
I will donate to whoever runs against him. I will vote against him. I will speak against him. And if he gets the nomination, I will vote Democratic.

--

To: Dreagon
If it's McCain vs Hillary, I'm voting for Hillary. It's stealth Soros vs out in the open Soros. I'll take out in the open, thanks

--

To: Dreagon
John McCain will become Bob Dole redux.

Bob Dole is a looser and John McCain will loose just like Bob Dole because the Clinton's will wipe him out!

Don't worry about John McCain getting elected because that will never happen!

Nov. 10, 2006 — His party may have taken "a thumpin'," in the words of President Bush, but ABC News has learned that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and his political team have decided it's full steam ahead for his 2008 presidential campaign. Although no absolute, final decision has been made, sources close to McCain say on Wednesday in Phoenix, he and a half dozen of his top aides huddled and decided to proceed more formally with his quest for the White House.

He thinks that Rethugs would nominate him. He thinks that Dems and Independents would vote him. As soon as he announces the long knives will come out and slash him into little peices.

8. No kidding!
"Bob Dole is a looser and John McCain will loose just like Bob Dole..."

Having trouble parsing the sentence, let's see, maybe it means that Bob Dole is a looser cannon than John McCain is?

Trying to parse out actual meaning from these inanities is an exercise in futility -- although often amusing.

Of course the Freepers will ultimately pinch their noses & vote for McCain. They're just being flaky.

What I don't get is what's the problem they have w/McCain. Because he's anti-torture? I just don't get this conservative factionalism. They're always acting like crabs in a bucket.

Anyway, I'm fine with them voting for the Dem ;).

Personally, I don't think McCain would be a decent President. Until 2004 I thought otherwise. He is always referred to as a maverick or a freethinker. But he actually has no backbone. He isn't a leader.
I know how it sounds but when it comes to the Presidency, I'd say that even Bush would be better than McCain :eyes:.

22. They hate him for the same reasons we "hate" Lieberman
Way back when he presumably still had a soul, he would vote with democrats on occasion. He would criticize Bush. He bashed the same fundy loons during his presidential campaign that he is butt kissing now.

They don't forget.

But they don't matter, either.

The republicans tend to choose their horses early and the party seems to want McCain, that is why he has been so busy kissing ass and making apologies.

37. I don't think he will get the nomination.
He is not an alpha-male, and he comes off as too obsequious. Repugs just don't go for that. His primary opponents will make mincemeat of him, and he will not fight back effectively.

I don't know why some republicans can't stand McCain. A co-worker of mine that was a staunch repuke. During the 2000 election when McCain was being pumped up by the media, he said he would vote for Gore before he voted for McCain. I was quite shocked.

50. If the newly Democratic Senate does its job, McCain's presidential hope should
fade.

McCain enjoys an undeserved reputation as a moderate (he's like Lieberman in that he votes like a maverick on only a few high profile issues but alienates his own party with self-serving blather). If the Senate passes the popular progressive legislation I fervently hope it passes (increased minimum wage, better access to health care, common sense corporate regulation, improved environmental protections, fair tax reallocation, etc.), McCain will be forced to either support or oppose these measures which are very popular among the general public and unpopular among Republican primary voters. If McCain opposes these issues, it should cost him his undeserved reputation for moderation; if he supports them, he may appear too out-of-step with Republican primary voters. Either way, this looks bad for McCain's ambitions.
